Accessories seidio active case for Droid X is now available

when is the white surface coming? for the longest time the pink surface was "pre order, estimated to ship x/xx". when the date x/xx came by, on the day of x/xx, the page would be updated, bumping the pink a week back, saying "pre order, extimated to ship y/yy". then once y/yy came along, the page was updated again saying "pre order, estimated to ship z/zz". this went on for monthS (i checked every time the date came up). finally the pink is shipping. the white is still coming soon. when the white becomes available for preorder, will we see the same thing that happened with the pink (i.e. wait 2 months as the ship date is continually pushed back instead of mentioning in the 1st place it would take approx. 2 months to ship)?

the reason I ask is because you said you expected the innocases to be available shortly after droid x launch, its now october (summer's over) and all of the colors arent even out yet. ive been holding out for the white but if its going to take another 2 months ill just buy a different case.

Fantastic! I wonder why the white variations for the Surface and Active lines always seem to come last =(

Hello, we currently do not have the information on the release date for the Pearl White Innocase Active just yet. As soon as we do, forum members will be the first ones to know!

Anybody know if this case is two pieces that snap together over the phone?

The Innocase Active is actual two layers of protection: A form-fitting rubber polymer fits over the device to give it shock and drop protection, and a hard, polycarbonate shel that protects against bumps and scratches. The signature soft-touch coating also gives you great access in and out of your pocket!

From what I understand (minus a few variations in styling) it's basically the same as the Active X, just without reinforced spine?

Both the Innocase Active and Active X have 2 layers: rubber polymer and hard polycarbonate shell (spine). Only difference lies in the design!

Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Agreed.

I find myself hoping to hear something from Incipio or CaseMate on a case for the X.

I was hoping Incipio would make the Ultra Feather Lite (loved it on my BlackBerry Storm):

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately we do not have plans to release our feather case for the DROID X. We do plan to release our SILICRYLIC case for this device . If you would like to be added to our notification list for this item, please reply directly to this email. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

I just received my active case today. I bought the extended battery, with the battery door on, the case isn't flush all the way around. My question is, with the case on, do you guys think it would be a problem if the battery door was taken off? Only reason I ask is because the case is very solid when it is on the phone. No fear of it coming off. And the battery itself isn't coming out without pulling the tab. What do ya think?

Also, it does put pressure on the screen with the extended battery door on. Didn't notice it at first but, there is a wave pattern when you touch the screen.

You're having problems with the extended battery door pushing the battery against your screen? Wow, that's very odd. Mine seems to fit just a tad bit loose if anything. I've considered pushing the stock door onto it just to see if I could tell if it was pushing against the screen or not, but I haven't had any problems with cases fitting around the extended battery door at this time. Oh wait, I think it just dawned on me what you were saying... did you mean with this case on it puts pressure on the extended battery door? That would make sense. And to that I would say absolutely you should be fine taking the battery door off and everything being alright. At the very worst if/when you drop it the battery may come loose on you. But hey, that's better than a damaged X right? :)

If it's any "consolation" (I know it isn't), Otterbox isn't moving any faster.

It's very disappointing indeed to see the major players dropping the ball with the X like they have. I mean I'm usually not one that likes to 'run with the herd' as far as buying somethng everyone else has. But I got the X for two main reasons...

1) when I first picked up the Droid 1 and scoured the app market I ran into quite a few apps that said you needed at least the Droid X for it to work properly. So I figured if I was going to take full advantage of the app market and the world of Android properly, I need the most advanced Android phone on the market. And as far as Verizon went, the Droid X seemed to fit that bill.

2) the one and only one thing that I really admire about the iPhone/Touch is that where ever you go, they have stuff to buy for them. It's not hard to find stuff for those products. So I figured with the popularity that the Droid X seemed destined to enjoy, I figured the aftermarket stuff would come fast and furious and I would have no problems finding stuff to customize it with.

Unfortunately, reason #2 hasn't panned out quite like I expected. That's not to say there isn't squat out there for it, but to me the majority of the stuff that is available is quite cheesy to put it mildly. The really cool stuff seems to be dragging its heals getting here.

Not what I was looking forward to.

Already dropped it from about three feet, no problems whatsoever. Been using it without the battery door. Good thing about the active is that I don't have to worry about the case splitting in two pieces.
