Camera picture thread

Those Alabama shots are awesome. Alabama wasn't bad this weekend, either! I can't wait until I get a Captivate and go to town on Kinnick Stadium!
yea i didnt realize until the game was almost over i didnt get any real good shots with the stands full, the one with the band on the field was at halftime and the newly expanded endzone emptied quick and filled back up after. im planning on making it to a bigtime game, maybe penn state or florida. it takes great video also

Also before you select panorama you may want to change the metering to center-wieghted. You do this by clicking on the widget on the bottom left. Then scoll down til you find metering. I find this easier when i take panorama's. Also i always take a few pictures in different settings. Sometimes i select a certain mode or i manually adjust settings myself. It helps if you know what iso, exposure, etc means. I'm still learning... I'm no expert. But think of things like lighting, what angles is the lighting coming from. Where you're standing. All these little things could effect your picture. Check these out.

Hi, most of your pictures look better than what I've taken, especially indoor shots. I noticed that my brother's Droid took great pictures. When looking at the details I saw that the Droid was at 300 dpi while my Captivate is only 72 dpi. Is there a way to improve this resolution through software or did I miss a setting somewhere?

Picture taken using the ADD ME feature!! So fun to use
2010-07-25205841.jpg

hey this is a funny picture haha I always wondered what the add me feature was...when I first saw this picture I though it was just some twins or something... Then I started messing with my camera and saw the true genius of your work!
its funny because its the same person!! That's crazy!
Maybe next time you should have him change clothes haha
And you can mess with people by telling them he has a secret twin....

Okay, so I need some help here. I'm about to go on a short vacation (DC for Restore Sanity/Fear) and would really appreciate some help on how to do proper panoramics. Some of you guys really got this function down! I've tried some and the focus doesn't follow, or I get really bad overlap. But, I've only done close-up and inside panoramics. Does the effect play out better with distance? Is there a method/style that works best to get a really good pano? Any suggestions/help would be so appreciated!

Panoramas look best when the subjects tend to be in the distance. Things up close, like deck railings, may look curved, and, as you noted, focus can be a problem too. I've noticed that indoors the pano function sometimes gets lost on bare walls or repeating patterns.

Something else to note, if you're doing a pano and don't want to do the full width, you can stop and tap the screen to end at any point. Also, you don't have to hold the camera horizontally. Holding the camera vertically and panning to the side will give you a taller image, although not necessarily a full 180 degrees.
