Root [Radio] The Official Radio Thread

I've seen this radio floating around (also bearing version number 2.15.10.12.20), and wondering if it would work OK with ROM version 4.08.605.2. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

(The reason I'm mixing and matching is because I can't get 4.08.605.15 to install via OTA, and I wasn't able to flash cmlusco's nearly-stock version of this ROM from xda developers. So I've given up--for the time being--on that new version, but looking at any other new components that might improve performance...)

10.12.20 will work with that android version or any other, the radio dosent have to match the build it was released with.

As to 4.08.605.15 there is an ruu you can do which is official from verizon.

I assume you tried to flash the odexed version of my stock 4.08.605.15 rom and got a status 7 error near the end. It has been since fixed.

cmlusco, thanks for the update. Please refresh my memory (if you know), was the 10.12.20 radio part of any stock Verizon/HTC release, or was it custom-developed?

You know, I can't recall what error I got at the time I tried your odexed 4.08.605.15 ROM. I may give it another go (do you have a link to the fixed version?), but I'm not that hopeful as this phone has repeatedly barfed any time it gets near 4.08.605.15. It won't do it via OTA and I couldn't get the official Verizon RUU to install either. I saw somewhere (maybe another thread in one of the other forums here?) that this particular version was very touchy and that a lot of people had issues with trying to update.

Radio (baseband) 2.15.10.12.20 was officially released with the 4.08.605.15 ota. As far as i know, there has never been a custom radio developed.

There is actually a new stock rooted rom 4.08.605.19 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141642 that was just released, try that one.

There is not a 4.08.605.19 RUU yet, but hopefully one will come around. You should be getting the ota notification for 4.08.605.19, and if your all stock you can accept it and hopefully it will go thru.

Hi All,
I went back to TOB cmlusco and I still like it alot. I seem to have really crappy connections with this new radio though. I have been reading on the forums how people are posting that their dbs (decibels per second I think), have gotten better. I have speedtest on my phone but what app are you guys using to come up with those readings? I have downloaded a bunch of radio's and want to see which one works best at work. The one that was in the last version of TOB worked pretty well up there. This new one doesn't even seem to work to well around my house.

Thanks,
fewjr
