BioLock V1.0 Coming Soon

Actually the front facing cameras (which are of poorer quality) are much better than you think. The first tests of Iris scanning tech were done on Windows Mobile 5 with cameras using 640k resolution and no flash, etc... Todays software/hardware is far superior and I think you will be surprised. However, it is true that conditions will effect image quality, like direct sunlight, darkness, but that is true of any device. We do make use of the flash in the rear camera for occassions where the user is in a dark room, it is a bit odd looking and can be blinding, but personally I settle for the coolness and ultimate security over a few spots in the eye :)

Eventually some Chinese manufacturer will slave an infrared camera to a smartphone and all this will be much easier :)

Happy Android Days Ahead.

Well, you can judge for yourself. We all know that if you turn down the lights or turn them off the camera can barely take an image properly, depending on the model and whether or not there is a flash. Not much we can do about that... that is pure physics ;)

Hence the PIN backup. Or use it with a flash or in a location where there is just enough light.

Can't work miracles :p

ok i am midly curious, outside of the coolness factor are people really willing to buy an app that uses different type of security (ie something other than pin/password/swipe pattern etc...? i was in a meeting the other day and someone mentioned a lock screen app that is a user selectable picture but on that picture you would set several things to tap on to unlock the phone. although a fun idea i thought it was stupid because i really don't think people will pay for other types of security, am i wrong? also i am wondering what users would think about something that would read your finger print to unlock the phone, does that sound interesting?

point being security apps require a little more loving care and money to produce it would be interesting to hear if there is any demand.
