Why can't HTC make an ANDROID phone like this?

Ok.. I only want to make a few quick points.

First... just imagine how epic it would be if there were phones that dual booted os's as a STOCK FEATURE from manufacturer! not gunna happen but, fun dream.

Second.. umm... I hate to question popular opinion... but, why does everyone want heavy phone's that feel "expensive"

I'll be the first to admit that I would take a captivate over a vibrant for the metal back piece instead of plastic..

But, with that said.. plastic is relatively light.. I dunno about any of you... but, ALL of my plastic phone's look better after a few drops than my metal phone's which begin flaking or have really rough edges...

Sure I like a "heavy" phone and I prefer the feel of metal.. that doesn't mean I don't see the advantages of some other phone that doesn't have the same "feel"

To quote the great IOWA, you don't have to play semantics to make your point (however flawed it may be) OfTheDamned. Again, if you would have read by post before trying to be Ms. Clever, you'd see that I never said that I did not like the looks of the phone, I said they were uninspired and cheap. Looking at it chronologically by release date we can see exactly where Samsung ripped the design from, and thus why it is uninspired. Having the phone at hand you can look at it and see it looks cheap. Thus cheap and uninspired, just be LOOKS.

Sorry if you got confused along the way.

Not sure how my point is flawed and I did read your post. You stated that the Galaxy S line specifically looks uninspired and cheap. While I will give you the uninspired part because most of them are so close in appearance to the iPhone, the looking cheap part is what I found odd and the reason I posted in the first place. If you weren't so busy trying to be rude with your dictionary comment or come back at me you may have actually seen the oddity of that. With the the whole line being so close in appearance to the iPhone it just comes across as odd that such staunch advocate for the iPhone would find a phone that looks the same to look cheap. Since I do have a model in my hand I can say that it neither looks nor feels cheap.

While I will admit that my last post was a bit smart assed in nature, due to your dictionary comment, I fail to see how I am playing semantics. I simply pointed out where your post allowed for a misunderstanding. I took your words at face value which I guess that I shouldn't have. No need to get offended or be rude, your comment just seemed odd to me at face value.

I haven't been a fan of past products. This is not a past product.

I hate to burst your bubble, but the iPhone, by your terms, would be considered "uninspired" and "cheap", especially if you look at it "chronologically"

You see, the iPhone was released AFTER the LG Prada, shown next to the (paper?)iPhone below.

I really like the way HTC phones usually look and I love the Sense UI. The only thing I don't like about HTC are the signal issues they seem to have. Motorola android phones tend to get better signal on verizons network but I HATE their UIs and just the overall look and button layout of their phones.. I've been playing around on a few of the fascinates lately and I gotta say I'm thoroughly impressed, mainly (but not limited to) the screen quality. I have retina display on my ipod touch 4 and the galaxy s screen blows it out of the water. My only complaint is its slight tendency to lag. If samsung comes out with a faster android phone (possibly with a keyboard, still undecided on that) before the new year I'll probably buy one.

I never claimed that the iPhone was an inspired and non cheap design. I said Samsung's are worse. I don't even see the resemblance at all between the iPhone and that Prada phone aside from a large touchscreen.

You're correct IOWA. Upon further inspection I am able to see the size of the screens are the same size, and that the PRADA is a capacative LCD screen. I am also able to see that if you look close enough, that row of keys at the bottom is a single home button. The silver bezel also managed to somehow managed to escape my gaze, as I now see it. Yes, Apple ripped the design of the original iPhone millimeter for millimeter from this PRADA phone.

I fail to see why everything else in life can be similar and people are ok with it.. but, god help it if a phone that is touchscreen comes out, oh noo its an iclone.

I even remember an article comparing samsung impression to iphone x.x my god.. impression is a dumbphone for texting and maybe light web browsing..

You know, I am getting tired of all these freaken nokia rip offs..

Does ever device for cellular communication have to have a phone built in? can't we just get something original? like a text only phone!

Oh lordy, you guys are ridiculous. I said I found the Samsung Galaxy S phones to look uninspired and cheap, and, right on cue, the iPhone had to be taken into the picture. The Galaxy S phones look cheap and uninspired in comparison to flippin' HTC and Motorola phones, not just the iPhone. I implore all of you guys, you know, for once in your life, to take off your ignorant goggles and realize it's not always Android vs. iPhone, but it can also be Android vs. Android, as the point I was trying to make here.
