Accessories Samsung Vibrant Cases

I just received one of the new Samsung TPU cases (sold in T-Mobile stores, but I got it online:
http://cgi.ebay.com/OEM-T-Mobile-Fl...441032?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item483d05e208

I have a couple of TPU cases already--I like the texture and degree of stiffness/flexibility. The one with the best fit has the hard-to-press buttons, while the one with the easy-to-press buttons is too pink and looks fugly and fat from the front and side, though it covers everything it should (maybe a clear one would have been a better choice than a color!), but this new shaded raspberry-to-black design, which looks very appealing, has two drawbacks. The first is that the shiny back (which does look nice) is a fingerprint magnet, where the diamond-patterned TPU cases don't show anything but the battery cover underneath, which looks quite okay. The second, BIG issue I have with the new case is that the holes for the camera and the two inputs on the top of the phone are HUGE!!! Meaning that they leave a large square of phone back bare around the camera, and of the black top edge of the phone around the two inputs. The one around the USB input is 16mm x 8mm (as opposed to 13mm x 6mm and mm x 8mm on my two other cases!). The square around the camera is 14mm x 14mm, as opposed to the TPU cases, which measure 12mm x 12mm. In fact, the camera square isn't even centered around the camera! To be fair, this is pretty much how they look in the official photographs, but it doesn't really sink in how huge they are until you see and compare them to other cases that fit around those spaces more accurately.

The fit around the screen is nice and looks good, but I am very worried about how poorly the camera is protected and the bare surrounds where there should be a good fit. I suppose I should not be surprised about shoddy manufacture by Samsung--it about equals their customer service--but I am very disappointed in this case--it certainly doesn't live up my expectations for a Samsung brand case for a Samsung phone--for which I paid 3-4 times more than the generic TPU cases from Hong Kong that have much more accurately cut holes.

So I'm (sadly) still searching for my perfect case!

Pics of my new argyle case from Daydeal. So far it's my favorite after using the T-mobile gel case and the Samsung OEM Blue & Black case. Don't get the OEM blue and black case. The black rubs off VERY easily exposing the blue underneath. Very poor quality. And it's too floppy, so I've pulled the phone right out of the case when I had it in my jean pocket on multiple occasions.

All cutouts align very nicely on this case.

OB is only making the commuter case for the Vibrant for now anyway. I have emailed them already about it.

Trident cases is coming out with a couple cases as well. Trident's cases have a built in screen protector. If I get a Vibrant I'm gonna order one of their cases.

Both companies say they should have something out by the end of the month

I hadn't heard about them either till someone posted on ob's Facebook about them. I checked them out and they seem pretty nice. Have gotten good reviews as well. They are pretty good at updating their site an when new cases are coming out unlike ob

Also have this case. Love it! Fits very snugly to the phone. At first it is rather difficult to push the buttons on the sides of the phone, but the silicone loosens up after a week or so.

I'm looking around at other cases as well though, maybe the Barely There case? I hate 2-piece cases, and im not a fan of hard plastic cases. I bought the phone partly because it was light and thin, hard cases make the phone bulky.

I just got the case today!

Its pretty nice, my favourite case of all so far. Im sticking with this one for a good long while.

It is pretty solid right now. Be nice when it softens up a bit later on.

A+ Case

I personally love the diamond back TPU cases. It's basically a cross between a hard shell and a soft case. They don't scratch and offer pretty good drop protection. They have a diamond pattern on the inside of the back which makes for a really cool effect when you look at it at different angles. There is a small video on the listing page that gives you a better idea of what they look like from various angles.

They come in various colors,

here is the smoke/grey and

here is the blue

I had a hard case when I had my iPhone. It covered the front as well with hard thin plastic. I loved that case. I dropped it so many times. I used to sit on it when driving, watching TV, etc., and it never cracked the iPhone screen. Sometimes it got dirty and I had a hard time using the phone, but if I took the phone out and cleaned the case it worked fine. It also kept the iPhone brand new even after two years.

Does anyone know if they make a case like this for Vibrant? Thanks.

Hey guys got my Trident Cyclops in the mail. I pre-ordered it last week, wasn't suppose to ship till the 17th. To my surprise it showed up on the 17th. This case is awesome. I believe it's suppose to be the lower end of their cases but it's built like a OB defender. I'll never buy OB again. It cost $34.95 and can be had in 9 (after thanksgiving 10) colors. I like to be different so I picked orange. It has built in screen protectors for the screen and camera lens. Here's their site and some pics

Ooooh...I like it. Does it have a holster/clip as well, or just the case? Either way I'm going to take a look.

Cool...thanks for the info! I hope one does not need Facebook to take advantage of it though...I don't have a Facebook account.

EDIT: I don't see anything on their website. Bummer.
Trident Case- Release the Kraken! there ya go sir.

I wanted the lime green they had as one of the choices of a new color. It was #2 in the votes though so no lime green for me :(

How you like your case so far?

It's annoying until the first time you almost drop it. I hated it on my blackberry until I realized how many times it saved my phone.

My problem with that T-Mobile silicon case is that it wraps just a little bit around the face of the phone. I am left-handed and for some reason I have trouble swyping the P because my finger can't get far enough over to the right to select it due to the wrap of the case. Since I don't use the Q as often, I have not noticed if I have the same problem on the left side. To compensate, I have to peel the case back when I want to swype a word containing P.

So if I could find a squishy case that snapped onto the sides, I would be extremely happy. I want squishy for the "drop" protection, but side snap on for good access to my screen.

Interesting. One of the features I like best about this case is the wrap-around. It protects the bezel and the glass. On this forum I've seen a couple of broken screens/damaged bezels due to dropping the phone.

IMO the purpose of the case is protection and appearance is secondary. I guess if you are committed to Swype this could be a problem.

How about using an Xacto knife or razor blade to notch out the problem area? Then you could use Swype, still have the majority of the bezel/screen protected and not have to buy a new case yet. Either that or use a different keyboard?
