Root HTC Sense 3.0 on Eris

I have seen some ROMs for other phones (Incredible, EVO) where they have HTC Sense 3.0. Just wondering, is there any ROMs out there with Sense 3.0 for the Eris?

I don't know if this is "Sense 3.0," but the newest version of Sense on any ROM is KaosLegendary V.19 by punk.kaos.

NOTE: This is an ALPHA build. Most things are still untested and we are facing a lot of resolution-based issues with this ROM. Having said that, it does seem to work in most aspects. Here's the link: [ROM]KaosLegendary V.19 [10/05] [OC] [SENSE/Froyo] [CFS] - xda-developers (you'll have to wait for Kaos to re-upload V.19 without Swype in order to DL).

Eventually you will get a new version of Sense, I just don't know when. The Legend will be updated to a Froyo version of Sense and there may be the possibility of porting the latest version of Sense from the HTC Gratia, which is coming to Europe soon. Additionally, more and more phones are coming out with Android every day. I'd imagine HTC will be releasing an MPDI phone with Sense and Froyo (or Gingerbread) in the near future. If they release such a phone for Verizon, it's a home-run that we'll see a port. The biggest issue, and reason we don't see ports from the Incredible, EVO, etc. is because these are HDPI phones (high-density screen resolution phones) and the Eris is an MDPI phone (medium-density). Since all of the graphics are different resolutions, in order to port a dev would need to change every little graphic in the ROM and it's a HUGE pain in the butt, especially because you can't just use any old graphics editor to do it (Android relies on .9 extensions to make graphics "expandable," so you need to know what you're doing or they'll render wrong in some situations).

Long story short, we need to see an MDPI version of Sense in order to have a new version ported over. Additionally, it's tough to make a ROM designed for another phone carrier work on Verizon (but it's possible, we've seen it done a lot, we're always porting from the Legend and Hero).

Rest assured, it will eventually happen for us, but who know when.
