Free Phone Fridays at Best Buy

Yeah you do definitely wanna get on the unlimited data plan now. Even though it will probably still be an option once the new program starts next week.
Now maybe Im reading your words wrong but you seemed to imply you needed to add a line, remind yourself if you have to add a line that's $10 a month for 2 years so there is a $240 charge there from a certain point of view for the free phone
Yea, I will get unlimited data plan. I'm upgrading a line I've been using though.

By the way, I checked Bestbuy website, and it seems like Fascinate is available for shipping now. (it wasn't available last time I checked) This FPF promotion is only available in store or online as well?

I believe for both Online and In-store. I believe there's a special section on the best buy that is only updated on Fridays. It should show the phones that are available for free. Here's the link...

If you have 1, 2 or 5 line available for upgrade with a new every two contract to be signed, you should ba able to get all eligable lines upgraded with the free phone. My brother in law got a Fascinate on Oct 1st from Best Buy for free on his 2nd line because his primary was not yet available. It was a 10 min process and they activated the phone to the primary phone's number. The secondary line was never touched other than to extend the contract out 2 years.

What's the one year plan price for the SF at Best Buy during Free Phone Friday, anybody know?

Thanks!

The promo is for a 2 year plan only. I tried to pull that stunt with them and it was nixxed immediately. The program only allows for free upgrades with a 2 year contract renewal on an eligable plan. No exceptions.

Hah, I just bought my SF from Best Buy last week. Didn't think they'd be repeating the Fascinate Deal. Wonder if I can return it and get it for free :) I guess not because I already signed the contract extension. I might call and complain anyway, lol.

I don't think you even have to return it. They'll just give back the money you spent. At least that's what I did with a camera a bought from them that went on sale after I bought it.

That figures - just picked up a Fascinate Monday at Costco - $141 out the door. Anyone have experience returning there? Any idea what the process would be to return it and pick one at BB?

Just an FYI. When I went to Costco to ask them about the $70 coupon and if I could get that reimbursed since I still am in the 30 day window with them (which they did honor btw), I asked them about the Best Buy Deal. They said that I could return my phone with them and get a refund (no restocking fee) but it will take a 2-3 days for the line to release. Which would be too late to get it on Friday at Best Buy. They could have just been saying that so I wouldn't return it though.

You might want to check with Costco/BestBuy to see if you can return to Costco on Friday and go out and upgrade that line the same day at Best Buy.

They aren't just saying that. They aren't an actual Verizon store, so they have to send in the information of the returned phone to Verizon to have your old contract status restored. This can sometimes take less than 24hrs, other times it will take 2-3 days.

Best thing to do, IF you're on a family plan and have an eligibility to upgrade on another line, is to use that other line's upgrade and return your current SF to Costco. After 2-3 days, your line will have its upgrade eligibility restored, and whomever's line on your family plan you used to upgrade can use your upgrade next.

I called last night and was told the same. The more I think about it, the less I worry about it. I still got an awesome phone for 35% off. I would have willingly paid 199 for it - why kick my own butt for buying it at 140, or risk not getting one at all if the line doesn't clear in time?

BTW, thanks to everyone for a great forum!

Hrm.. very tempting. But think i might wait for the Continuum and smaller form factor.

really the continium??? Unless that phone was free and a galaxy s $300 I wouldnt think anyone would for a smaller screen/longer phone. That button lcd looks ripe to be annoying.

I guess to each his own, but I can't imagine there will be a lot of support for that phone unless its easy to port stuff over from the sf (maybe it is, idk)

Sorry, I didnt mean that to be rude. Just kinda surprised to see that

BB has a price change policy on nearly everything. IF you buy something and then within some days (maybe 15 or 30 days) it goes on sale, they will reimburse you the difference. shouldn't be any different with phones. the contract is with Verizon, not BB. I say try it. what's the worst they can say?
