Can anybody tell me how to completely remove voodoo lag fix only my kernel has changed on applying lag fix so if i update a new firmware using kies after disabling lag fix will I be able to do so I ve searched a lot on xda developers could not get a.definitive response need.help regarding this

Just reflash using odin with whatever firmware you want. Thats the cleanest and best solution according to me..

But to be on the safe side , make a "disable lagfix" folder in Voodoo , before flashing and then reboot, so that the flash can proceed without any hiccups .

Hope that clears your query ..:)

can anyone please tell me what is 2e recovery and how to check if my phone has it? is it different from the normal 3 button recovery mode?

You can see what recovery version you have ..

1) Put you phone off and wait for it to completely power down

2) Enter RECOVERY mode ( volume up + home + power buttons )

3) Read the first couple of lines on the top of your screen..

Basically 2e recovery refers to your version of the recovery .. later froyo builds have 3e recovery..

A lot of custom roms require 2e recovery and not 3e recovery for them to load/install.

Cheers ... :)

Guys, on doctorxerxes' advice, i installed this ROM and my phone is now fab!!
Really appreciate your help Xerxes for everything.

But I've installed the LITE version and wanted to report a few errors:

1. My WiFi connectivity has become almost like it doesn't exist.
I have to keep the phone on my router for any data transfer/ browsing.
I had no such issues earlier, and my GPRS works like a charm.

2. The Google search widget keeps getting displaced on my home screen.
I can't even delete it. All i can do is re-boot, and after that my Sense clock
gets corrupted, and my G search is non-responsive.

3. I can't seem to sync my Facebook contacts, nor my Gmail contacts.
I've never tried this before so i don't know if i'm doing it right.
But i'm using the Facebook Sync from the second post to do so.
Anything that i should keep in mind while trying the same?

4. The voice search on my phone Force Closes the second i click on it.
I've downloaded speech synthesis, anything else that i should do?

I love this ROM. It's fast and responsive.
But all i'm asking for is your advice and help, cause these are features i use everyday.

I bought the mobile in India and worked well both in India (Airtel) & when I came to Bahrain (Zain SIM). Yesterday, while connecting to Kies, it upgraded the firmware. Now, everything is working, except Google account is NOT getting connected; hence market, Mail, G-Talk, etc are NOT working. The message displayed while trying to login (Many times) is:
"Cant establish a reliable data connection to the server This could be a temporary problem or your phone may not
be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call
Customer Care"
I do not have data connectivity in SIM. But I have Broadband WIFI and Web browsing is perfect. Can I get some help to get connected to Google? Thanks..

Ask, and you shall receive ;)
So do I. I like touchwiz better than launcher pro. I also like the samsung widgets. Also, Doc_kalpik's ROM does not have facebook and google sync. :(
It does have Facebook/Twitter/Google sync..

Just a request, if you guys have any issues with the ROM, you'll get our attention faster if you post on that thread ;)

Thanks.

I will stick with Darky a little longer - I put a lot of effort into decorating my home screens.

Btw, mind posting a few screenshots on your thread? It's good for attracting new users :D

Hey Manu,

I bought it when it launched at Hello World in Gokul Arcade Adyar (42115215). I got it for 28K including tax with bill and warranty. Price might have dropped since then.

Great phone!

Karthik.

P.S. I'm no guru...

Hi Gurus,

Did anyone recently purchase SGS in India, particularly in chennai. If so can you please give the price and the shop from which i can buy it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Kalpik,

I wanted to upgrade to the Froyo that you have put up on XDA. But I had some questions. This is a rooted version of Froyo. If Samsung releases its version, will we be able to upgrade to the same. Since this Froyo is a rooted version, will Samsung honour warranty if there is an issue?
Another very important, is there a way to install the current stock rom back after upgrading to Froyo. If yes how can that be done.
Kindly answer my questions.
