things i don't like about the vibrant

Started with a basic nokia flip phone.. Eventually moved up. But in the recent years. I've had 3 blackberrys, then 3 Samsung Beholds, then a Memoir, and now a Vibrant. So the past 3 years all I have had are samsung phones, and the durabiliy has progressed since then and I must say that the Vibrant is the best so far structurally.

Cool. And poor Nokia...seems they're getting hammered these days by Android! :D

Yeah, I would say Nokia started out as T-Mobile's flagship phones when the technology just wasn't there yet. Now there are so many other companies making better phones. I hope Nokia comes back with someting awesome that blows the current phones out of the water, or at least is competitive.

I think you meant "although."

With that said, I think it is best not to be picky about someones grammar and punctuation on a site like this. EVERYONE makes spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes. Additionally, you never truly know the educational background of the person typing. They may be more highly educated than you would presume.

Case in point, I have many friends from Stanford who are obviously highly educated, and yet I often get texts messages from them with many spelling mistakes. Really who cares. In contrast, I know another person, who has never completed high school, yet she is the first to point out my spelling mistakes in text messages. I mean really, who gives a sh*t, it is a text message for heavens sake, and I text using one hand most of the time.

Why don't we all just agree that this is a casual forum, and many people don't pay attention to grammar, nor is it really expected, especially when many times people make quick posts without proof reading.

Unless the person is clearly typing in ebonics, then nobody should point out spelling errors, or state someone has poor reading comprehension. Never make assumptions, you might just be surprised at the high educational background of the person you are trying to insult.

+1 :( *embarassed

1) Don't presume every posters' native language is English.
2) Don't attempt to be a grammar Nazi when you are making basic grammar mistakes.
3) Having no LED light suck after seeing my friend's Epic.
4) The screen does not make a good flashlight. Coming from a HD2, that had a crazy flash you could use as a flashlight -- you literally can't stare directly at it without being blinded.
5) FFC would been nice out of the box but you can mod it using the step-by-step procedure over at XDA.

It is a great phone regardless. Just would been perfect with those stuff included above.

I have a real camera that can blow away any cell phone camera for years to come... unless they figure out how to fit a DSLR inside a phone...

Apple is almost there. Samsung better get with the program. :D

Spoken like a true troll. Go somewhere else.

LOL wow fail to you too sir or mam. I frankly don't care if you are either but to call me a troll? do you even know the definition of one? it seems as if you don't if you are calling me one. I was just pointing out how ironic it was that everyone is trying to correct each other while making mistakes of their own in the process. Then laughing by saying that the only thing that the guy found wrong with the phone were what it didn't have as oppose to real problems and so on.

I really wonder if the lack of notification light was truly an oversight or done on purpose. I have a feeling they just totally forgot about it, then remembered to put it in the epic. that would be funny.

my last phone was a nexus one and I really miss the flash and the led notification. I dont really know why they didnt put those. The led notification is really usefull. when im chatting or sending txt messages I dont like to take the phone out and turn on the screen to see whats going on. With my nexus one just looking at the led color was enough to know what the event was.

I got my vibrant yesterday and I must say this phone is awesome.... I've never experienced any "lag", The screen is simply amazing, I love the UI as well (I know some people hate it), The iphone looks do not bother me at all, The phone is very lite (love this) it feel perfect in my hands whenever i make a phone call (not to big nor to heavy sounded wrong lol). The only thing I Would change about this phone is the charger placement whenever I'm playing a game and I don't have any battery the charger seems to be in the way... Also battery life is killing me dramatically but I was browsing through the site and I found out once rooted I can get an overclocking widget to extend the battery life.. Overall I don't regret buying this phone I love it..

The iphone looks should not be an issue, as long as the phone isn't as big as my sofa bed, I think it will work.:D

One thing I don't like is how chincy the plastic feels on the Vibrant. Not a fan of that at ALL. I have a nice phone-glove thingy that fits tight and makes the phone feel perfect, but still, it's annoying.

It's like the plastic they make those easter eggs out of. Please don't make phones out of that crap!

I don't know what they make "Easter eggs" on your planet, but to me the back feels like high quality carbon fiber. Overall, I love the feel of the phone. I wouldn't want it any heavier - period. But to each his own..

I too think the light weight of the Vibrant is a dream come true, but "carbon fiber" come on robo, that is a far far far stretch. The battery cover is cheap plastic, nothing carbon fiber about it.

Nor is it like the cheap plastic that Easter eggs are made of... That is ridiculous and you know it! He went one extreme, I went the other to compensate... :p
