Projected price cutting date?

I am an existing Sprint Customer. I am looking to upgrade to the Epic 4G. We are starting to see some price cuts on the Evo now and I am wondering if there is a general timeframe for the projected price cut of the Epic 4G.

$250 is still a little high. I don't wish to go through Radio Shack as this would actually cost me more in the long run through Contract pricing.

Should I just be a little more patient? If so, how long do I need to be patient in your estimation?

Thanks!

sometimes the sprint prices, "retail" and subisdized, literally never goes down.

but the price has already come down, look on ebay. there are several excellent reputation sellers selling new in box, and there are several lighly used, those prices are down, and will continue to drop.

Since sprint warrants these phones even bought on ebay (for one years since first activation) they are fairly safe bets.

What do you mean about Contract Pricing? I was wondering how Radio Shack offers it for $219 without a rebate. Do you still get the 12 month Premier upgrade?

I'm guessing the only major discount ($10 or so is nothing to write home about) will probably be the weekend after Thanksgiving, and THEN it might be $129 as a pre-dawn doorbuster, maybe $179 the rest of the day/weekend before going back up. It might possibly have a new permanent price of $229 thereafter, but it's not certain. Let's be honest... if $10 or $20 is truly the difference between getting and not getting an Epic, the purchaser probably can't afford one anyway.

I wish Sprint had a nice way to give someone who's already a Sprint customer and eligible for an upgrade a subsidized phone as a gift. For example, if I wanted to give my Dad an Epic for Christmas, let me buy one for the current upgrade price with the condition that it has to be either activated by someone eligible for an upgrade or returned unopened within 15 days to avoid getting the balance of the full price billed to my Sprint bill.

Or, if that's too much risk for Sprint to take, at the very least, allow me to pay the full unsubidized price and walk out of the store with the phone shrinkwrapped and unopened in the box, then automatically credit back the discount and rebate to my card when he activates it on Christmas. As far as I can tell, they won't even allow you to walk out of the store with a virgin, unopened phone at ANY price, let alone automatically credit back the subsidy if/when it gets activated by someone eligible for an upgrade.

Current sprint customer who's finished their 1yr phone contract. When you renew you extend your 2yr service contract and 1yr phone contract. Kind of interesting because many don't realize they are still under contract after their 1yr with the phone is up.

Epic is $99 on amazon for new accounts. They're not doing renewals yet for it.
I was going to recommend Wal-mart, but it's too late for their $129.99 deal -no more $100 gift card back to $229.99
