Root [ROM] ApeX V1.0 for Droid X - An AOSP Experience (10/20/10)

ApeX + REVOlution Theme + NEXtheme Font + Round Battery Icon + LP+ = perfect for me! :)

EDIT: Stupid drocap permission SU thing! How can I make drocap not do that?

Try using "shoot me", it does not show any text across the pics.

I urge you piiman. Just give it a shot. I understand you reservation on it. I really do. We have very similar views on the subject of task killing. This is NOT the same thing believe me.

I agree, he needs to try it. Auto Killer works just like the stock task killer but you choose the cutoff points where it will starts killing idle apps/processes. Each app/process has an oom value, the higher the value the more likely it is to be killed when needed.

There is a lot of info on AutoKiller HERE.

thats weird that there are no check boxes there. there are on mine

I'm using ApeX also and there are no check boxes next to the account settings.

Thats very strage. When I uncheck background data it get the same screen you guys are talking about, but when i check it back, I get this

It doesn't show the check boxes for me with background data on or off....hmmm.

Edit: Now that I think about it I have to manually check my gmail, it does not autosync anymore, I guess I just never noticed it until now.

Edit2: Clearing cache brought the check marks back up and gmail was not checked.

Tried checking and unchecking background and roaming data with reboots in between for good measure. Also cleared Gmail cache. Still no check boxes. I also realized my corporate IMAP account isn't showing up in the accounts list at all (unrelated but more weird stuff going on). I wonder if a hard reset might be the call?

Trying another reboot after clearing Gmail cache...can't help it coming from the Windows world!

Update: No check boxes to be found.

I just figured out that if you have "auto-sync" turned off the check boxes do not show up in account settings.

I have a switch on my Switch Pro widget that I use to turn auto sync on and off, with auto sync on, the check boxes are there, with it off they are not.

Press and hold on your screen select widgets and select power control...

I did it and yes after I turn off the sync the boxes went away...turn it back on and the boxes came back :D

I believe a reboot will fix this.

well this is an extremely smooth ROM. looks and feel great. thanks! couple of questions though:

1. my favorite contacts don't seem to show up in the "People" widget from Launcher Pro
2. are your REVO and NexTheme themes the only ones that will work with this rom? or can i install Blackmodz Returns from ROM Manager?

thanks again.

So far I absolutely love this ROM! Extremely smooth, very quick, and the transitions are very seamless and quick. I think one of my favorite things is that my Facebook actually syncs with my phonebook so i get my contacts AND my photos. And the Music Player is nice as well.

EDIT: Was running the mad OC overclock profile and getting great quad scores(1800's), but ended up getting reboots within 2-3 min of each other, so i went back to the def profile and all is well

ApeX + REVOlution Theme + EVO Font + Round Battery Icon + LPP + No-Clock MOD= Fantabulous

Hey Fabolous, what do you think of Music Mod VS. the Cubed Music?

@Fabolous

I turned overclocking off and setCPU shows the processor is running at 528MHz, and it feels slower than usual too. Any idea what's going on?

EDIT: I turned overclocking back on and setCPU widget shows it's max 1100 and min 300 (for a couple of minutes, then goes back to max 528MHz and min 19.2MHz), It seems like the max the cpu is going to is 600MHz.

EDIT 2: I forgot to mention that I reinstalled Apex Ver. 1, clean install, formatted system, data, and cache, and still the same issue.
