Accessories Trident Cyclops Case for HTC Evo 4G

Well this is possibly turning into a shit storm quickly... I ordered mine from the link OP posted.

I got an e-mail as of yesterday telling me it 'shipped out' (from meritline or whatever).
The tracking code they sent me continues to say, 'There is no record of this item', even today, a day afterwards. Did I get scammed or something? What's up here??

First off, it's been a little over a week since I ordered it... and only yesterday they JUST shipped it? THEN, to throw insult to injury, it's not even in UPS's shipping record??? What the ****'s up here?

If you ordered the black one, it may have been backordered. Of course they won't tell you that unless you call...

I notice that photos taken with the flash turn out blue when taken with my phone with...

Actually, if you check the white balance, it might be set to fluorescent. That tends to make photos taken have an either overly blue, or slight blue hue to them compared to normal. If you're in fluorescent lighting, then it comes out normal, but... you get the picture. Check to make sure you didn't turn that on at some time accidentally. I can't imagine a piece of plastic changing the entire color balance in a photo taken unless it totally covers the flash bulbs...

The Proximity sensor problem happened to me too. I noticed that other brands like Otterbox have a larger opening for the sensor so maybe that's the issue. (I had the Yellow Case) I really liked the case and didn't have any other problems, but not being able to hang up a call is a major problem. I complained about my PET screen shield having a lot of hairline scratches and they sent me an upgrade for free last week, however I just sent the case back this week for a refund and now I'm looking for a different case. I wonder if I could use the replacement screen with a different case?

That's too bad that it didn't work out for you. The blue flash thing is something that other people are experiencing as well. I haven't experienced the sensor issue yet, but I imagine that would be annoying to say the least. It's crazy how many pitfalls something as simple as a case can have. I still really love mine & hope that with the new screen protector I will be satisfied.

Foodman you have no idea, I ordered from meritline, and my god am I in a shit storm. Apparently my package was dropped off last week saturday, but I never got it in the mail....I called the post office and they confirmed they had delivered it...so I called meritline, they said their recoreds indicated it arrived at some processing facility and had no record of drop off...so I had to wait until friday....then I went to go file a claim and the claim email wasnt working. I finally got it working and had them resend it but havent been given a confirmation and was told it will take 5-7 days for an "investigation"....so, I just emailed them and told them I want a refund instead, god knows I wont get a reply for days....Im just going to order directly from trident....they seem to be much better and I should have done that in the first place, this isnt worth $10, all this trouble I mean.... :(

Meritline is a shitty company; they lied to me about when and how mine shipped out too..
I got mine eventually, but paid extra for "expedited" shipping, which was NOT expedited..

Just like everything else in life, you get what you pay for...
There is a reason why they had the cheapest price on this case; their service is low budget, just like their prices..

Calling doesnt work, you always get some mexican girl...nothing against mexicans but that is all Ive talked to, they are very very unproffesional and seem to not care, like they are doing you a favor....im the customer, you please me. Im getting a refund and paying Trident full price, I just want my damn case, instead of jumping through these hoops like a F%$%^%$ circus dog....

Okay.... well apparently USPS doesn't update anything until after things have been delivered.

I got it in the mail yesterday while we were out doing my birthday celebrating. Just happened to check the tracking code one more time out of boredom when I got back to see "Delivered".

Just to confirm that I'm not EVER using meritline again, this is the 'professional' email I got from this person named Katherine at meritline regarding why my package wasn't showing as shipped out, and why nobody at USPS had any record of it.

The tracking link xxxxxxxx shows:
Delivered, October 30th, 2010, 12:28pm,
Tallahassee, FL, xxxxx

Pls double check around if someone help you to pick up the package. Thanks.

Wow, I totally missed the point of why I was going to post... damn shitty service and companies got my knickers in a bunch.

Okay, with my red case, I only have on issue that seems to be recurring with almost everybody. My pictures are turning out horridly jazzy and blue with flash. When I say horridly, it's not like a tinge or a slight hue change. It's VERY blue. To the point where it's hard to make out objects or people.

I have found the reason why it's like this. There's a film that's over the flash and camera cutouts on in the inside of the case. If you take it apart and hold it up against something like the lights in your ceiling, you're going to notice it's almost like a blue polarized film that they've decided to use to protect the flash and camera. Granted, I love that they went that far, but it makes pictures useless unless you turn off the flash.

haha alright..guess its better to have a grip than none, well I just ordered a white one from meritline..thanks for the info..oh and on their facebook site they said they are working on the designs for the Kraken series for the evo (think defender series) and they are trying to make it not too bulky but offer enough protection..just for anyone needing something even more durable..but they said they are still designing it so it could be a few months.

ya, i'm going to go out on a limb here and say the oil issue is from your greasy fingers! clean the screen every once in awhile with a good cloth (not your shirt) and you should have no, to very little, problems with a rainbowy look....if this is bugging you now, do not buy an OB defender case because the screen protector on there is going to be just as bad...

on a lighter note, just ordered mine from NewEgg (because I trust them) for 27 bucks shipped. Got the black and gray for now, wife will probably get it once Trident drops the O.D.(military) Green color scheme...it looks so sexy! so ya, i'll jump on here and post an update and take some side by sides comparing it to my wifes out of the case while mine is in the case!
