For those of us that thought at first that the moment would be the Instinct Q, well it is in fact the q. Going into the diagnostic menu and looking at the version clearly says Instinct Q. I'm guessing Samsung didn't want a 4th instinct model so they renamed it the moment. just a guess though.

with the phone completely off, hold down the send button the center button and the end button and wait for the start up progress bar starts to scroll. just before it gets to the end, let go and the bar should turn yellow. it may take a few trys to get it to work. be ready to pull the battery to just try again. at least it does for me. number 18 shows the phone version and next to hardware platform it says instinctq rev01. Also number 17 shows battery information which is way off from the battery meter of the os. way more accurate.to escape the menu scroll down to reset and move up.

Im guessing someone realized it was silly to call in an Instinct when all other forms of the Instinct run Brew OS, at least I think thats the name of it. There are what? 3 Instincts? including the HD? And all use Brew I believe.

Of course they knew it wasnt going to be using the same OS when they named it the Q, but I guess someone in the chain of command had enough sense to rename it. Either way, its the phone I was looking to get when I first heard about it.

i knew that also but kinda neat to see the proof of it. I do like the moment name but if the hardware version is the instinct q, then why would they change the name?
Was the previous instinct phone running Android? Was it technically a google device? If it was, then I dunno... but if it wasn't a google/android phone then... yeah, this is something else entirely and it deserves its own name.

EDIT: Yeah, what he said...:p Edaze55 beat me to it

my posts were not meant to be argumentative just information about the name and diagnostic menu which not very many know about.
I dont think anyone is looking at it that way, and I agree, its kind of interesting that they left part of the old name in the system somewhere.

Maybe someone overlooked it?

I had my eyes on this phone since the first leaked photos way back when, so I never questioned the Moment was NOT the Q. I suspect anyone else in a similar situation would say the same.
