PowerAMp rocks but I am gonna stick with Winamp only because I can manage my music collection and sync it to my HTC Evo via USB and wirelessly over WiFi.

this is a great new player...i have been using mixzing for a long time, good to see that there is some competition out there. I just wish they would have stated that it is actually a trial, and that they were a little more specific of when it is going to give out, not just a message that says "will expire in a couple of weeks"

Well if you downloaded the apk from this thread then you would have known it was a beta.
And if you've now downloaded it from the market then you would know that that was a trial.

I was wondering why this was released as a Russia-only beta. If the dev is Russian it makes sense. But a lot of evil software comes from Russia so that's why I questioned it.

Ahh AK...what a hottie! Mariah Sharapova is hot, but not in the same league as Kournikova in my opinion.

OK, found an an annoying bug with this program today.

I was in the library studying and I started fiddling and faddling with this app and the eq, really pumping the volume. A girl came up and got my attention, and asked - 'sorry, can you turn that down, we're trying to have a conversation over here..."... I'm thinking g'dam my headphones must be loud, then I realise that it's coming out the speaker as well as through the headphones.

So watch out for that. Of course if you've got phones on you may not realise and will just be acting like an annoying idiot like I was. I've rebooted my phone and it still happens, but seems intermittent. It _may_ have something to do with using TapeMachine around the same time, not sure.

No comparison to stock htc player at all. This thing is so much better and to this point not buggy at all. This thing has an eq that rocks. Just make sure you have a decent pair of headphones/ear buds. I have a pair at work and they sound great. The pair I use at the gym are good for running but don't produce the best sound. Btw ever since the 2.2 update my htc player has been very buggy, what about you?

I really hope it's not five bucks though. I'll spend two or three but if it's five I'll stick with the htc player, damn it! It's not worth it to me, jmo.

Maybe I am just having a stupid attack, but how do you get songs in an album to play in track order instead of in alphabetical (by title) order?

Fish, you are using an older version of the Beta I believe. Get the latest build from the market and its fixed.

OR, use the folder explorer to play things instead of the library.

This player has nearly everything I want.
Finally I also have the option to edit tags from my phone, really handy when you've synced a bunch of music but some songs show up from unknown artists. Now I can fix that directly from the phone.

The only downside is that the UI isn't as intu

how do I play all the songs in a folder? The Folder view shows me each song in the folder as a separate listing.

Just play one of the songs and it will automatically play the rest of the folder I think.

Actually, I do have the latest version from the market (trial version). Just downloaded it this morning.

So are some of you playing songs in track order? Because I would sure like to get that working

I like the app but had to uninstall it because the toast kept popping up "scanning finished in 0.01 sec" so often, it got annoying and haven't seen an option to disable that. For now I use Winamp.

I am clueless as to what the equalizer does.

But I do recall that controls set to certain shapes help make sound better.

So...what "shape" should I have my equalizer set to for best sound? I don't know what I should be listening for...

Right now I have it set to a "hill" shape...

TIA for any advice.

It's really not about the shape and what is right or wrong. It's about boosting and cutting frequencies to achieve a sound you like. If you are "clueless" about equalizers, I'd suggest trying different presets until you find one you like. Then you can either leave it there or use that as a starting point for further tweaking.

Looks very good and the interface is easy to use, although the EQ takes a little practice on the sliders. However, I'm facing the problem other reviewers referred to with albums being listed and played alphabetically. I've copied FLAC albums over to the music folder on the SD card, Poweramp finds these OK and renders album art fine, too. But although I can see from the track info that the track number is there, it will only play in alphabetic order.

I think I'm missing something really obvious. All pointers welcome.

I finally got to use this with my BT headphones at work. It's GREAT! I played with the pre-sets and EQ most of the day, don't tell my boss. It really sounds good considering it's coming from a phone and going into $40 headphones.
I'm in for buying it...providing it's not too too expensive.
