What do u do to show off your Droid?

Yep the easiest way to show it off without really trying is putting the tone to "DROID". I some many people look back. I actually went to the apple store to get some accessories for my macbook and it went off kinda loud. I felt a little embarrassed because everyone turned around. On guy said is that the moto droid i was like yeah he said do you like I said yup couldn't be more happier. My droid was only $65 bucks :D

I guess I don't understand the need to show it off.

One of the reason I never seriously considered buying an iPhone was because of how obnoxious most of the iPhone users I know were about it. I hope the Droid users do not become that obnoxious. The superior phone should stand on its own. I don't need to see a note at the bottom of each email that says "sent from my Droid" or some yahoo waving his phone around saying "look at my Droid (and me!)".

What do u do to show off when other phones are around?

Nothing. I don't care if my DROID is better than brand X or phone whatever. It is better "FOR ME", and that's all that really matters. Isn't it???

The fact is, if the iPhone was on Verizon, it would probably win this peeing contest hands down. (Pun intended!) But it isn't, so I own a DROID. But that doesn't mean I'm going to trade it in when the iPhone finally does work on Verizon's network. ;)

The responses to this are silly. Just answer the OP's question.

To those of you who are so secure you don't need to show how secure you are with your phone, good for you. Continue to be so secure that you need to Tell people you are secure. Continue to make fun of those who aren't 'happy with who they are' and all that feel good stuff for teh fat chix.

The iPhone comment was kinda silly too. To win 'hands down' is pretty silly to say. Who would 'win' is a tough question, but hands down definately not. I came from a 3GS, going to school in boston where ATT coverage isn't horrible (least in spots i freq in cambridge, so no posts about how back bay sux plz ;) ). So the network was Not the reason I swapped. And I am happy as hell with my droid.

My girlfriend, a needlessly obsessed with designers and celebz iphone user, said she was jealous of it. She isn't sure if its for her, but she asks to use it all the time. This is the girl who said 'this is stupid' and 'its not an iphone joe' when I was trying it out in the store, she was tapping her foot.

She now steals it from me on the train, wanting to listen to pandora on my A2D bluetooth cans while playing her favorite SNES games from when she was a kid.

I like being able to do that while checking my sync'd calendar and getting messages from meebo or google voice without considering 'do i want to answer now and have to reload this app after?' Or thinking about what icon I want for my browser or what theme I want on my phone when I'm bored.

All things I couldn't do on my iphone.

So there is plenty for people to show off, if they want, and leave people be if they wanna have fun with their new toys. They are no better or worse. Except me, I am worse. I think I'm better than people who still own those 'old newz' smartphones ).

PS. I liked the greasy fingers reason though.

I wonder if the original poster's question has been misunderstood. Instead of "how do you use your Droid to draw attention to yourself and then proceed to show off?", what if we rephrase as "what cool features/apps do you show your friends when they ask to check out your phone?".

My Droid will [hopefully] arrive via Fedex today and I am very interested in "neat" and "cool" apps that may not serve any other purpose than to provide a little wow-factor. I've seen a few threads about apps that are useful and really improve the day-to-day functionality of the phone, but I would certainly like to hear from others about less useful but really cool apps. We didn't pay this much for just a phone, right? :)

P.S. This is my first post, and I'd like to give thanks to everyone on this forum for the volumes of information and great advice.

ShopSavvy, Google SkyMap and Voice Activated searches have been the most impressive feature to non owners so far. My boyfriend isn't exactly tech savvy so when I showed him Pandora he got uberjealous right away and started talking about how he needs a new phone.

There are several iPhone users where I work who heckled me pre November 6th. When I walked into work on Monday, they demanded to size up my phone and compare it to theirs right away. They handed it back to me less than 3 minutes later looking dejected and commenting on how cool it was that I have a youtube widget from the home screen.

The phone shows itself off, its nothing to do with me :)
