Help Angry Birds

In that case, does everything display properly now? Like, actual ground instead of brown blocks, and exploding birds?

I take that back. What I meant was the game wasn't slow on my Moment like other people were complaining about. I still see the brown blocks instead of ground and no exploding birds. To me it looks the same as when I updated to the open GL drivers, but bummed out due to having to start all over again.

Doesn't sound like you got the update then. Also the update shouldn't have made it where you had to start over.

Hmm, very strange. I swear I downloaded the new release from getjar.com yesterday and installed it. When you said it didn't look like I got updated, I went into "About" and lo and behold it says 1.3.5 and not 1.4.2. The downloaded file even says "AngryBirds_1.4.2.apk"

God knows what's wrong with my version of Angry birds. I went ahead and uninstalled the version that says 1.3.5 and reinstalled the 1.4.2 version. It kept saying phone was out of space, so I deleted around 20MB of apps, including the Fruit Ninja game which I like very much. I was then able to install v1.4.2, but when it runs, it again says 1.3.5 and behaves as such with brown blocks and no bird explosions.

Out of clues how to get this working.

I went to getjar.com and not the Market. Well, I see from the comments that there are others like me who are noticing the same thing, program installs but nothing changes as far version or graphics. I'm in the middle of trying something now. I am going to a backup from mid October, before I installed Angry Birds for the first time, and then I will download v1.4.2. Lets see how that works.

Should have listened to some of you who cautioned against updating. Got v1.4.2 installed and saw the ground, explosions etc, but totally unplayable. Slowed the phone down to a crawl.

I wasn't able to change egl.cfg as root explorer kept force closing on me if tried to change the numbers. I will wait for the next update and wait for people to try it out before I install the game again.

Another one here, interestingly, the game was always laggy and had a white block ilo text issue, but it was playable. My sister installed on her moment the same day and it runs much better on hers. Neither of ours are root.
So I gave in to temptation and ran the update. Game now has pretty graphic and is so slow it is completely unplayable. I gave up and uninstalled and reinstalled ( and lost all my progress :-(. Now I am back to the first levels and still can't play the damn thing.
Oh well. Time drain anyway...
/boy, these grapes sure are sour.

Are you guys having trouble running the latest version rooted or running stock?

I'm still on the old version (no need to update) running ti-x 1.3 w/jit and it has been running pretty good. This morning I applied ext2 again and it helped even more. The later levels drag a little so I put the ext2 on it to help out and it made a difference for sure.

I am running Amstel 2.0 rom. The old version 1.3.5 works fine on my phone but the new version doesn't. That's everyone's complaint and Rovio needs to put out on update to fix the lag and ad issues. I'll gladly pay money for the game if it works well in my
phone just like it does on the iPhone.

Game play on my wife's epic is completely different than it is on my moment. I have it running pretty well on my phone but it still lags, jerks and hesitates from time to time. On hers it's completely smooth and all of the graphics work. I have about 3 weeks left with my moment and then I'll probably have an evo. I think that will fix all of my issues.

LOL, this exactly. I feel super talented for getting through some of the levels... although the hours of my life wasted on this game are probably exponentially higher than those of people who can see the landscape properly!

Same here! SO that's What it is?? A moment graphic issue!? Well that sucks because I love my phone and I'm stuck with it for the next year and a half. I wish It was as up to par as the newer phones. The sad thing about it is, the moment isn't even that old. Bummer. Big time bummer.

The game was designed for newer phones and better drivers. Before updating to DJ07 I had the new gl drivers and the old angry birds and it was fine. Very playable and I could see all the blocks. The update was meant to make it compatible with our phones and others that ran similar setups. It has mad it worse for most moment users though. Just waiting patiently for an update. I am getting an Epic but my duaghters use my phone in the car to watch movies and play games on trips so I plan on letting them still do that once I upgrade. My 8 year old likes angry birds so I want her to still be able to play it.
