8 days into my new Evo and I have a stuck pixel... I ran JScreenFix for 30minutes and the pixel is still stuck on green(persistent punk). I'm running it again for a longer period of time and hoping it works out well. I wouldn't mind as much but the pixel is ~1cm off center. It's irritating as heck.

Has anyone been able to fix a stuck pixel? Methods?

Because you need more than 1 stuck pixel to be able to exchange.

There aren't many places that he could have bought the phone at that have less than a 30 day return policy. (Satisfaction Guaranty) There are not many stipulations involved with a retailer that has a 30 day return policy. I exchanged my first Evo at 27 days (bought from best buy) because the paint had flaked off in a very very small area.

goodboy where did you buy the phone?

Return policy != exchanging. He is more than welcome to return the phone and get his money back, but if they follow policy, 1 stuck pixel is not going to get him a new phone.

Vincent, as I've pointed out in the past I am not going to argue with you.

goodboy..most retailers have a satisfaction guaranty as part of their return/exchange policy. I suggest you go in to wherever you purchased the phone from and politely explain the issue and the resolution you would like. If they refuse to help you out (which I doubt will happen) ask for the manager and request more details on their overall return policy. The satisfaction guaranty overrides most other bits in the policy nearly every time. exclusions would be things like a receipt..you have to have that...and abuse etc.

The product has a flaw, and you aren't happy with it. When I complained of my paint flaking everyone told me I was SOL because it was cosmetic. I took the phone back because of flaking, and the battery door wouldn't quite snap in all the way. At first the rep at Best Buy happened to be selling a new EVO and pointed out the battery door on that phone did the same as mine, they didn't question the flaking at all.

Results will be different for everyone...but when it boils down to it...retailers have this policy so that you are not only comfortable with your purchase but also comfortable with making future purchases from them.

I bought it at Sprint itself. I was on the old legacy plans and decided to upgrade to a phone that works; Alas, my first Evo had an issue with 4G(it would never connect). I'm still within the 30days of first having gotten an Evo. In a world that pixels aren't lazy, I'd keep this phone for a solid amount of time till it would become a glorified MP3 player.

I'm probably going to visit the Sprint tomorrow and see if anything can be done; I for one will not settle for a refurbished unit, seeing as though this defect appeared out of thin air. I was literally just using my phone in class to take a snapshot of the notes I missed/too lazy to copy over when the green pixel starred me in the eye.

I'll do another marathon run of jScreenFix tonight for a few hours to see if it clears things up, hopefully.

Well naturally that'd be because you would have no case. It's simple fact, just because you're in the return policy period doesn't mean they just waiver all rules for exchanging the phone. If the rep follows policy, they won't take it. I know you hate being corrected, but you'll have to get over it, suck up the pride sometime. Move on.

Correct, but being in the return period means, if he wants to, all he has to to is return that phone, and buy another Evo. So whether or not they will give him a replacement is a moot point, as he can just return and get a new one.
