Well I actually used Unrevoked 4ever a month ago but just installed the newest RUU to have the new update. I know my phone was still S-off but i couldn't seem to get root access again. I'm no expert on rooting for sure and am at work being distracted every 5 minutes. I just saw this app in the market and tried it. It went through okay but then hung at a waiting to reboot screen. It didn't freeze the whole device up or anything. I could still it the home button. So i restarted my phone and went to try it again thinking it didn't work or as others said needed to try it twice but i was greeted by the Superuser app saying this app is asking for super user rights. Worked great for me. A quick easy way to re-root.

I have yet to get this to work on the Dinc.

It seems to go through the process and it then reboots, but I still only get SU: permission denied in terminal mode.

I also tried just rebooting the phone and then running the process again, but it doesn't seem to take and therefore I still sit unrooted.

I hope this changes.... Some have indicated that it did work with the Dinc, but I have yet to have any luck.

Tried it on the Original Droid. (Never rooted, running stock Froyo...). Goes through all the motions. Reboots. Open app drawer, SuperUser icon is there. Download an app that requires root, in this case I tried both Drocap2 and Shoot Me. Shoot Me states I do not have root. Drocap2 starts a countdown, but then says it failed.

Would be great if it worked, just to get rid of bloatware! Any suggestions?

EDIT: Now working. Goodbye, Amazon!

when you temporarily root using this app, do all the changes you make disappear after the reboot?

I used this with msl reader to find my msl to fix the sreaming problem on the evo...but now since I'm "rooted" I was thinking about making some other changes just for fun. But if they're just gonna get reset after reboot I won't bother.

it isn't a temporary root. it is permanent.

I rooted with it after I applied the last update since I was already S-off.

The Incredible is not supported by z4root and it only gives temporary root. And root is lost every time you reboot. I used this back in November or December before Unrevoked 3.21 came out and was only able to get temporary root.

This only applies to the Incredible the Evo is different. For some reason I see a lot of Evo posts here in the Incredible forum.

ha. well I ended up here because this is the only thread on z4 on this forum. I knew this was the dinc only sub forum, but like the dinc, only z4 temporary root is supported by the evo, so I thought I could get my answer from y' all.

I did get my answer, all changes are lost on reboot, so I guess I'll wait til I'm sure I don't ned my warranty and fully root. thanks.
