2.2 is out for the htc desire not sure what else

and lol at telstra getting rid of shortcuts on devices there no way theyll ever get rid of them unless the OS forces them too (which they should)

Sorry, wouldn't normally correct another's post except I didn't understand what you meant until I googled telstra desire 2.2

Thanks very much for the heads up. I would have missed it otherwise, downloading now!

& to think I was sick of waiting & was going to root my phone this weekend.

After using it for a few days, I have to say that for the most past, the update is working fine. The new features are cool , but after having to wait so long, I'm actually a little disappointed because there are really not that many changes.

It seems that google spent most of their effort on improving voice commands, which I don't use at all. I just feel stupid talking to my phone, not to be confused with having a conversation with someone over the phone.

When using commands I have to speak clearly & loudly so I just don't use it. same goes for any of those new phone menu systems at banks or wherever that insist of voice commands rather than pressing numbers. I refuse to use them as well.

The one problem I have is that the Telstra bar code reader app is all screwed up. Holding the phone portrait makes the camera display go stretched & pointing the camera seems awkward & inaccurate. This is very disappointing considering how long Telstra delayed the release with the excuse that they were "testing" everything.

Also, nothing has changed with regards to the crapware, I still can not remove any of it & am still considering rooting the phone.

I'm definitely going to root when gingerbread gets released, if not sooner.

Man I feel dirty being a Telstra customer, but they have the fastest data, so I'm stuck with them.
