I am trying to download Concur expense app from the marketplace. When I search from my BBv05 device the market returns "There are no matches for the search: Concur"

When I search from my wife's Droid Incredible running stock 2.2 I'm able to download Concur. So does my co-worker who is running BB on the same Droid as mine.

Any thoughts on how to fix this or get around it?

You could try clearing data in the Market app: settings>applications>manage applications then select to view "all" then find the Market app and hit the button to clear data.

I installed the bb 05 a while ago but have never explicitly formatted my sd card with an extra partition so apps can be put there.

I went quite a while without the 'low on space' error, but now it's back.

Is there a thread/post/site etc that details exactly what needs to be done to make the most of apps2sd, and/or specific features of bb0.5 that help with this?

I've seen general posts on it, but I really don't want to mess things up if I can avoid it. ( I can take titanium and/or nandroid backups and have restored them, but I'm not familiar enough to know if I can restore one after I've done the apps2sd thing.)

As a general question, once you repartition the SD, does it allow you to install pretty much every app to it? Or are you still limited to the ones that support it from applications>> settings? Another question is, if I already have apps on the SD, will they be broken when I go through the format? I'm backing the whole SD to my pc now. If I just move the whole user partition back after creating the 'private' partitions, will I be good to go? << I guess that's what I probably need to do.
Thanks!!

I finally rooted my Droid the other day and am currently running (and loving) Bugless Beast. I am having a problem installing new kernels though. I tried downloading and installing one of ChevyNo1's kernels, but my phone froze on the Motorola logo after it installed, so I had to go back and restore a backup.

Can anyone tell me which kernel I should use and how to install it? I'm running the latest version of Bugless Beast on an original Moto Droid.

Thanks!

You can install with rom manager. No need to wipe cache. Just install over what you have running. Make a backup first if you have not, but you don't have to back up everytime, just as long as you have something you can go back to.
-Open rom manager
-Install from SD card (if you have it there if not you can go to the market for Chevy -or Slayer kernels)
-Make a backup if you have not.
Install and let it reboot.

Got to setcpu and auto detect settings and then you can set it up how you want.

Some phones don't like ULV or even LV kernels or high speed ones for that matter. It is kind of trial and error but most phones will accept Chevy's LV kernels. Purchase SetCPU if you have not already. I have had great luck with slayher kernels as well if you want to give those a try. Snoop around here there was a recent post with the latest froyo kernels.

Has anyone gotten an OTA notification for an update? I'm assuming it's 2.2.1, but simply knowing what it is doesn't stop it from trying to update. Is there a patch for this release, like there was for 0.4?

Peter Alfonso

I wasn't able to find anything, so I'm hoping someone else may have found something that I didn't....

yea i just got the update too. not sure if i should install it or not.

Well I have been rooted for months but never got around to installing a ROM until now. I finally installed BB .5 and I am amazed at how well it works. It is actually runs better than anything Verizon ever put out. Also it looks like Pete has patched all of the problems initially listed such as the search button to name one thing. It is also installing as 2.2.1.

My phone is running so well that I am going to leave Pete's stock kernel in it. I have never been one for a lot of customization so I am thrilled that Pete simply amp'd up what the stock ROM does.

I wanted to take a moment and offer my thanks to everyone here that has posted about the various ROM and things that have done to make everything work right. I especially want to thanks Johnlgalt and OMJ for putting up with my questions. Also a thanks to Inssane and Chief for their posts and their advice on things both of which I found extremely helpful.

The only question I have is if there is a way to get the new market view. I don't know if it will be required in the future, but it had changed just before switching to BB and now it is back to the original. Nothing big I was just wondering if there was a way to to get it or if it is even needed. Thanks again and looking forward to Pete's next version.:D

Make sure you make a backup first, then you can try installing the update zip entitled 2.2.7_Vending.zip from the post linked to below, which will install the latest version of the Market (stock) to /system/app. Install it from recovery just like a theme, without wiping.
