Hey xenole, cheers for the feedback
We're about to release a patch with a survival mode in it, with it's own scoreboard for how long you survived. It would be out now, but someone pointed out a saving related bug I need to fix quickly. It should still be this week, with a shedload of new content.
I'll have a look and see what's happening, it doesn't do anything weird, the bars are a straight representation of the amount of health, when they get to less than 0 they die. The waves do move faster and faster though, money spent on tracking really comes into its own on the highest level.
It's balanced so the top end of INSANE should be pretty tough, even maxed out. If you're almost there I'll have to quickly get some more high end stuff added!
They go up to 10, the last few were designed to take a while, so you could focus on specific items. Testing with everything upgraded, INSANE mode, getting chain "Pop" bonuses for the first 20 or so waves, you can get almost 60,000, which should give almost 600 per game.
Yeah, it does more damage than any other turrets, but has a tiny range, every 2 seconds or so it'll target an enemy and hit a big area around them. You'll get lots of combo bonuses too, the catch is you need to keep enemies in 1 tile's range of them as much as possible, if you put some slows down around it, and try and make sure they have to walk around 3 of it's sides you'll do big damage. We're adding an effect next patch as it's VERY vague, I do agree!
To get it in perspective, a top end shot tower does 60 damage a shot, a shock tower does 150 and can hit tens of enemies at once. I don't think any other tower would be capable of doing 300 damage, to every single enemy coming out. There's a new achievement next patch for killing 10 at once actually, I think they're the best way to do it still
The top upgrade costs are always around 4x the second level, for this though the damage is also drastically higher. I didn't want the game to focus TOO much on making a huge maze of level one turrets, like a lot of other tower defence games. There is much more focus on using the top end turrets to cause damage, then using cheap turrets to keep the enemies in range.
We've rearranged the menu a bit for the next patch, due to adding achievements + survival. This involved adding a "Game Modes" page before the "Level Select", which might end up making the chain even longer. We were planning on adding a quick menu to the menu button for jumping to screens, this might be a good option, as well as the "Play Again" option on the results page you mentioned.
Don't worry about submitting every score by the way. When you submit it'll simply submit the highest score you've ever had, so you won't lose anything doing it later.
Thanks for the feedback! Always keen to hear back from people, especially people who have played all the way to the top end of INSANE!
Feel free to mail me or post here anything else that's frustrating you though, we're still aiming for a patch every week or two. There's a huge list of features we've got lined up!
I would like to see longer games. 50 waves isn't really enough to be honest - 100 would be nice or even infinite.

Seem to lose 90% of the time on wave 48 on the hardest level. Some crabs always seem to move through freeze towers, mortars etc without taking any damage, or have a maximum of one hit left to kill them yet still survive everything.

How many times can I increase the power / tracking etc of towers? Got a few on Level 6 or 7 but it costs around 640 coins to upgrade further.

Does the shock tower do anything? Only ever seen it fire once on the lowest level and blowing on the screen was more effective at dealing any damage.

Is there a reason behind the upgrade costs?
i.e basic gun costs 9 coins to upgrade once and then 38 a second time. Why 38?

The game also needs menu improvement.
You complete a game and get a victory. Then you get the option to submit your high score. Would be nice if you could jump to the shop and / or start another game from here without having to use the back button on my Desire to go back to the relevent screens.
