T-Mobile FROYO update

Yes you should do. I had to do a factory reset as it said android was no longer installed on my phone.

This was sorted though after the factory reset.

Thanks for the advice.

My dilemma is that there's nothing particularly wrong with the phone at the moment, but any possibility of it being made better is quite tempting.

A real "bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" scenario......

I still have:

- MobileTV
- Download Navigon
- TopApps
- Mobilbox Pro

The only one that seems to have gone is: MedienCentre. WoW! 2 months to remove 1 app. They must've put in plenty of overtime to achieve that !!

Hi
Just spoke to the tmobile guys on Twitter and he has just checked his phone and its the same, he has passed this back to the relevant team and will get back to me when they have more info!!

i didn't bother and mine is fine. I'm just umming and arring about doing a factory reset to see if it gets rid of the rest of the apps.

Cheers mate.

I contacted T-Mobile Help on Twitter today and asked what the state of play with the update was - eg. that I'd heard it doesn't remove all of the German apps, and I wasn't going to download it if it was going to be pulled and replaced.

This was their response:

Hi John, It will not be being replaced, there is a shared ROM between the various T-Mobile companies and the update removes the app from the main menu, but some are still visible via manage apps, this doesnt affect the memory available to use or the functioning. This is a software constraint that HTC are unable to change. But the update does def improve the running of the device so i would def do it

same here, however, im guesing that Top apps will not be taken off as is t-mobile bloatware that can be used in Uk- nothng German about it on mine ( have to admit I did find a new app using it). also Mobilbox pro is somehting we can also use in Uk if we woud like although it costs a fair bit for what it is, depends if you want your voicemails to be downloadded to your phone or not. I know its crap that the networks put ther stuff on the phones but by the looks of things on here its not too tricky to debrand and then problem easily solved.
