Just got the OTA here in Los Angeles. If anyone else hasn't received the update yet, try rebooting the phone and waiting a few seconds.

Did checkin and 5 mins later there it was!
Might have lost xscope and swype tho' - first impressions,need to mess on and find out.

Edit - reinstalled both, all fine now.

I installed the newest beta(Nov release?) along with the new installer and what used to be 6-7MB Swype app became just a tad over 20MB with the new "Installer"! :eek:

Edit, turns out you can clear the cache in the Installer and its a mere 128kb or so.

Don't matter though, I tried using Swype but upon my first attempt to use it, a pop up appeared that informed me that this version of Swype is not configured for my phone :rolleyes:

Did you reinstall the previous version thats good till January?

Personally, don't care much for it, just want Gingerbread.

EDIT: Looks like someone at Google likes me, as I've just received the update about an hour later...

I'm from Melbourne, Australia and I just got the system update notification and got totally excited. That is until I realised it was Android 2.2.1 and not Gingerbread.

I dont know if it has happened to anyone...less then 5 min it came up on my screen....UPDATE AVAILABLE.

but basically its 2 parts to the installation....first part is barely above 300kb. Nexus will ask to reboot where the 2nd part of the installation will begin....

anyone else get this???

Sorry, I'm not sure; I used a link to installer from an old invite email so it's possible..
It's 10.4MB and is version 2.10.52.13753t100.
I was half asleep at the time :rolleyes:

The reason for it being in 2 parts is it includes an HBOOT update. The first part is the newer 0.35 HBOOT and the second part is the FRG83D patch.

what if we manually updated it? Did we get the newer HBOOT as well, or just the patch?

Manual updates didn't get the newer HBOOT (I know as I did that originally), not sure what difference it makes.

I did a test and dropped back down to FRF91, and let it OTA (the first one I've ever had

) and it did the 2 parter, so I have the 0.35 HBOOT now.

how did you drop down to FRF91? Just naming it update.zip in the SD card root, and the usual procedure?

EDIT: well, the ones I've got are all to update a previous firmware. Maybe a PASSIMG is needed?
