Great News..

HTC is rolling froyo 2.2 on ASIA HTC desire.. I just got notice regarding download of 2.2.. (my s/w no. 1.19.707.7).. .

I am going to office now.. will come back and download and install the same..

My desire has shown the notice and saying how to download … either wifi or wifi and mobile network.. its 96.24 MB..(Update : Android 2.2 and HTC Sense update).. My mobile internet is very slow in India (am from Hyderabad).. so will download via my home wifi and update my comments soon..

Check your Asia HTC desire now.. Hurray.. its been long waiting and today I got it..

Guys.. i went to read other forums and went to try it out.. the froyo update is available.. mayb u all can try it out.. go to Menu> Settings> About phone> software update> click check now.. n now i m downloading it.. woohoo..

Check the manual update through
go to Menu> Settings> About phone> software update> click check now
the update it.. very simple.. no need to wait to pop up the message of 2.2

guys im having a lil of a problem here..ive tried downloading thru the system updates "Update now" but once the phone reboots..im greeted with a green "sync" sign and shows some bar loading below. However about 5 secs or so.. Im being shown a red question mark symbol.

Any one facing some prob? Did i do anything wrong in my installation. Build/software numbers shows phone is for asia. 1.19.707.

Help is much appreciated.

Index of /shipped/Desire (Install the correct one though)

And if that doesn't work then try the "Gold Card" method buddy:

My headset stopped working after I upgraded my HTC Desire to Froyo :-( I did it through the FOTA (Firmware over the air) update notification that I received. Anybody else facing this problem ? I think I'll have to take my phone to the service centre now.

Hmmm, I got notification whilst in AU, but couldn't download due to time constraints. Told it to notify me next time I was online.

Now I can't download at all. Manually checking continually tells me my phone is up-to-date.

How can I download and apply to my Asia Desire?

I am on the Celcom carrier with my HTC Desire... till today I have no news on the update to 2.2 OTA... is anybody else in the same boat?

Yes, i feel like i'm in the sinkin boat with you. Do you happen to get your HTC Desire from a non-HTC shop outlet?

Good news. Froyo is available OTA today.. just checked it out under Celcom : Home carrier. Installing it soon....

Bought HTC Desire on last week, 2.2 update notification popped up as soon as I configured internet APN after turning on the phone for the first time!

It was a 94MB Download.

I'm from Bangladesh btw.

I downloaded 2.2 a week or so back (having only had the phone about a month). I'm in Australia and couldn't find out whether we are in Asia region 1 or Asia region 2 - does anybody know?

In the end I found some advice to download from the North American option, as it was much quicker, which I did. Is there any problem with this?
