I've found best battery if you move to DJ05 is clean rom 3 and the kernel within it since its lv/uv. If you go voodoo the 11/23 is also uv. Thats the funny thing though is what is a great battery combo for one is not always a great battery combo for anotherThanks Saps, Its been quite a roller-coaster ride regarding my health. I disabled Voodoo 1.2LV Dirks and installed stupid-fast (1.2.3) with super-dark ROM and its nice, but my battery is taking a pounding in the last hour and a half ( went from 96 to 85 in an hour and a half and i sent and received 2 texts, nothing else). I have no widgets and i haven't installed any apps yet, spare parts is not picking up any issues as well. I guess i need to join IRC in order to get the new goodies such as JT's D05 clean ROM and the Voodoo 5. any recommendations on a kernel or ROM that balances speed with battery life? i will keep experimenting
11/24 voodoo has its own cwr now! its red and says voodoo recovery
and you can enable/disable voodoo in it
I'm familiar with rooting, flashing, cmw and all but not with voodoo. So if I have a red cmw now after flashing test1124 that gave me the permanent cmw in red, and a voodoo kernel that is DJ05? And I need to disable voodoo before trying to flash a nonvoodoo kernal like stupidfast v1.54?

So merely flashing 11/24 will give us this red cwm like the kernel zip installs it or is it a separate zip? Believe it or not I still havent climbed onboard voodoo5. Also I was reading last night that some people still have green and/or that could cannot ask red via rom manager but only via possibly the reboot button or holding the power buttons in from a start boot.11/24 voodoo has its own cwr now! its red and says voodoo recovery

If I were to head to irc surely someone will head me in 11/24 voodoo 5 direction right? And also loading voodoo5 is just like loading any other kernel am I correct?
Yes and yes....but.....I will just brought the usual caution of voodoo5 is still a wip and voodoo craves caution. That's all.
If you flashed any voodoo 5 its a dj05 kernel
Yup you must disable voodoo before flashing a non voodoo kernel or you will bootloop
yes but jt calls all his voodoo kernels test at this point. Even though they have been semi-publicly released as noted in half the posts above there is still a bit of risk involved with the process. A seasonsed SF vet who has a moderate degree of adb and/or odin familiarity probably has little to fear flashing a voodoo5 test kernel. However, increasing we are seeing a monkey see monkey do trend. So as more and more people are lovin on the voodoo5 there is a tendency for those less seasoned to jump into the pool perhaps when they dont fully know how to swim. The labeling of test is both accurate and perhaps even a slight deterrent for the less experienced. Are there any voodoo kernels besides that test kernel?

yeah and in the end its the helpful posters who end up spending hours trying to revive a situation with just a little bit of education and pre-planning would have been avoidedgood post saps
i didnt mean for my post to sound preachy...but yeah i think a lot of the crowd is just pop into irc ask for new files not listen for the warnings/bugs and then leave and flash anything. can't say im onboard with that
i again would like to point out (and this is directed at no one, just in general) that voodoo is a very serious undertaking.
yes you can flash it fairly easily and may not ever have problems. but please before doing anything....learn as much as you can as to what you are actually doing to your phone.
many of us have had voodoo issues previously, and many of use have had significant flashing/root experience on other android phones.
im not trying to discourage anyone from trying something, or make it seem like im talking down because really im not any kind of expert. im just pointing out that you should know what you are undertaking and be prepared for whatever may arise
Horse's Mouth:Sounded like a great big don't do it to me..and that's why its still just sitting on my sd card. I wanted to read more about it just wanted to have it if I decided to use it. I really thank you guys for what you do and the help that you give. Is there anywhere specific to learn more about voodoo?
good post saps

With all due respect guys IRC can be a little intimidating and confusing. I've seen people ask and get ignored (not intentionally but it happens) due to lots of chatter. I've seen multiple conversations going and its very easy to get mixed up with who is saying what to who, making it real easy to do the wrong thing. We really need to bring what is done there to the forums where its cleaned up and direct.
Don't forget that even in the forums we have many that never post but at least they can get the latest and correct info if they come looking, its not all jumbled up and mixed in with others conversations. doing that IMO would make it easier to post those
BIG WARNING messages.
IRC is killing the forums! and IMO isn't the best way to get a message out. Its great for up to the minute happening though and can be very funny at times
that's my .02
I would give you 2 thanks for that if it would let me..you are totally right about irc.. I got the voodoo link yesterday from you and was gonna ask you about it but there was so much everyday chatter that had nothing to do with sf that I couldn't keep up with you. That's why I just try to come back here for info..and now I see nit coming to take my soapbox so I'm getting down
Well here's another post just so you can think me again
But while I'm here I will tell you that you can go private in IRC with a person and that might help clear the extra chatter.
