Good pricing deals on purchasing the HTC EVO 4G

Picked up my EVO yesterday through a Wirefly Cyber Monday deal for 98.99 upgrade cost. I was gonna go with the Epic but the deal was too hard to pass up.

+1 to this, I waited all friggin' weekend for a decent upgrade price, finally saw that below $100 and pulled the trigger. (The Walmart deal for $49 was good, but I don't shop there and have a general loathing for the place anyway.)

I ordered an Epic from Wirefly for my wife for Christmas yesterday. I have an EVO and was leaning that way for her as well, but on Cyber Monday I guess they dropped the price on the Epic to $149 w/contract extension. She wanted the keyboard and I thought it would be cool to have an Epic to play with/compare to my EVO (which I love) and the price was right.

On a side note, her upgrade eligibility from Sprint starts tomorrow so I told the sales person to hold the order until then (they stated that they would do that on the online eligibility check), but apparently they submitted the order to Sprint right away and it was declined, so I saw order canceled when I checked it this morning. I called them up right away and the helpful customer service rep resubmitted it with a hold on the order until tomorrow and also made sure I was locked in at the $149.99 price. Needless to say I am very happy with the customer service so far, hopefully I will feel the same way once the transaction is completed.

I called the number on the www.whereismyorder.com page. Click on the "contact us" link. This is at the bottom of that page:
To contact us by telephone, please have your order number handy and call 866-276-9578.

I had to wait on hold for about 5 minutes this morning but they were very helpful and my order is in shipping according to their status page.

I ordered an EVO for my wife from Wirefly. Shipping was fast. Activation (upgrade) was very slow. First call I was told I'd receive a call back in 12 hours to activate. No call. I called again and was told I would receive a call- I said no go. I asked for a supervisor and the Rep came back and said the Supervisor said I would get a call in 2 hours. I got a call in 45 minutes and the rest was painless. They are obviously very overwhelmed by the holiday sales and can't keep up.

I'm a little confused in the Wirefly upgrade process, since my phones have always come right through Sprint. After you receive the phone do you just contact Sprint to activate? Can you add TEP on the phone?

My activation last year with the samsung moment ordered from wirefly was a pain. The WF rep on the phone could not activate the phone and I ended up calling sprint. Hopefully this time with the evo things will go smoother.

Also, both times I ordered from WF, the order has to sit in "processing purgatory" for a few days before shipping. I don't know if that is a sprint or WF issue...

Hope you don't mind me asking, but what did your upgrade date reflect from your Samsung Moment order? The day that you placed the order with Wirefly, or the day that the Moment was activated?

I am watching out for Best Buy's free phone decembet (or whatever they are calling it). Supposedly they rotate which phones are free with two year contract. I have until mid december to return this one. I would rather them price match the thing but I am tld they cannot do that. Might end up returning it so I can pick the same damn phone free LOL!

They are going to rotate "free" phones in and out during December? I checked the BB website and don't see any details on the program. Seriously, now I'm torn. I was planning to go tomorrow to the Reward Zone Members shopping event and trade up from my Hero to an Evo to get some extra rewad zone points, but now I'm thinking I should wait.

I guess I could still get it and return if necessary to get the free one. They usually will price match anything they put on sale, so I have a feeling they would just match it.

When I load bestbuy.com it is right on the center bottom of the page (It says free smartphones, or something along those lines). Best Buy themselves don't have any information on a rotating schedule (as far as I can see), but I found out about it through phandroid news posting. If there is truth to it I would assume that when clicking that link on their page it will bring you to whatever phones thay have free that week.

Sorry I mispoke, i did see the add about the "free smartphones", but I meant i didn't see details on the program (whether it rotates or will change products). It's kind of vague about the "free" ones. It says here are the currently available ones or something to that effect.

I would doubt the Evo would be offered as a "freebie" since it's still widely popular. I think they'll stick to less advanced phones or ones that are being overshadowed by 4G phones.
