Root [ROM] ApeX 1.2 Series for Droid X - Functionality and Performance (12/7/10)

Without a doubt this trick works. We're talking about at the screen where it says 'Welcome to Droid X' and there's an android and two buttons on the bottom. Slowly, but surely press the four corners, starting with the top left.

I have yet to experience this. Can you check in settings, applications, development, that keep screen on is not checked (I know, this should only apply when you're plugged in).

It's gonna replace the Neural Network LWP, that's all. You can just grab it, place it on the sdcard:

su
install LiveWallpapers.apk

Make sure you're not running the Neural Network LWP when you're doing this ;)

Did you install a theme or remove any blur apps? I cannot recreate this.

did this still didnt work. is it bc i deleted the stock live wallpapers?

Fab,
Not sure if anyone else noticed this but after installing the gingerbread theme my Motorola text messaging app (messaging -mot) closes immediately after it opens. Similar to the glitch with the email app. When i use the aosp messaging app i have no problems. Not sure why though. Any thoughts?

The theme doesn't touch that app, so I don't know why it would do that.

You can try pulling the Conversations.bak and Messaging.bak files from Apex in system/app

Rename them to .apks and put them on your sdcard, and in terminal:

su
install Conversations.apk
install Messaging.bak

I've read through this whole thread, and for the life of me I didn't see it mentioned, so I'm sorry if this is a duplicate question.

I'm on 2.3.15, and installed Apex 1.0.2.X... and I'm looking in the About section of the pref pane, and it tells me my Android version is 2.2...

Know I know the screenshot on the OP is of 2.3.320 with Apex 1.2.X, but it shows Android Verison 2.2.1... and I'm wondering if I did something wrong, or if the 2.3.15 phones can't get up to 2.2.1... or if there's even a difference??

Does it matter?

You did nothing wrong. You are on the 2.3.15 ota or like me 2.3.15 sbf. I have Apex 1.0.2.2 running. You having nothing to fear.
only unless you update to the leaked 2.3.320 will your version show 2.2.1

Use NinjaMorph. Check out the instructions:

To extract files from the GB theme:
First extract the files from the framework-res.apk.
You will find them in the /res/drawable-hdpi/ folder once extracted, with the file names:
"zz_moto_jog_tab_bar_left_begin.9.png"
"zz_moto_jog_tab_bar_right_begin.9.png"
"zz_moto_jog_tab_bar_right_mute_begin.9.png"

To inject extracted files to your system:
*Open NinjaMorph
*Start Checks
*New Project
*/system/framework/framework-res.apk
(let it extract all the files, they will end up in /sdcard/androidthemes/workspace/framework-resapk/)
*You can now either:
*Replace the zz_moto_jog_tab_bar_left_begin.9.png with the one i provided using root explorer (Destination folder = /sdcard/androidthemes/workspace/framework-resapk/res/drawable-hdpi/)
or
-Use NinjaMorph to do the replacement
(**I find using root explorer or astro to replace the file avoids permission errors**)
*Back in the Ninjamorph program, back out to the first screen, then select 'Finish Project'
*Select your framework-resapk project
*Say Yes to the Confirm Action prompt
*Say No to Optimizing prompt
*Say OK to rebooting
You're done!

how did you do that?

I use 7zip. download the theme you want, and download the theme with the lock screen you want.
use 7zip to open (dont unzip, use "open achive" ) both of them, then I just click the file for the lock screen I want and drag it over to the theme I'm installing, as long as the file names match it should just over write the image file.
I used this method to replace about 35 images in nextheme for apex
