I just updated my gmail from the market. It says it has priority settings now, but it beats the crap out of me where! Anyone know?

There's the "Priority Inbox", first of all, under your Labels. You can set the Priority Inbox to be the default inbox under Settings.
"Mark Important" manages the importance of that particular email (look, redundant Swype email because I was already in the beta before yesterday!). You can do the same thing while viewing an individual email (no screenshot). It's context-sensitive: on emails that are "important", you'll get the option "Not important".

my gmail also auto updated on my DINC today, but im now having problems syncing. is anyone else experiencing this problem?

See how yours has the priority inbox and important labels? Mine don't have those or the orange arrows. It also don't have the"mark important" choice in the menu.
