Root [ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

Thanks again Fab! Great work here, dude.

One question - are the keys supposed to be smaller with the GB keyboard? I've never run anything other than default densities but the keys seems a lot smaller to me (see attached).

If I'm on 2.3.15 and I wipe data and cache prior to installing, I lose all my widgets and anything else on my desktop?

I also have to reinstall all my apps after I install this rom, correct? Just use titanium backup pro, correct?

Doug

You can not flash this if you are on 2.3.15. You need to update first because I'm pretty sure this has the new kernel.

Yes, you will need to reinstall all your apps or use titanium to restore them (apps+data only, not system data)

Ok awesome, do I just install it over the current swype with this ROM? How did you go about installing it?

HERE ya go...Put the file on your sdcard, long press on it and select "copy", then go into the system/app folder and hit "paste" (you may need to hit the r/w button on the top right) once it is pasted long press on the swype.apk file and select "permsissions". Change them to: User: read, write; Group: read; and Others: read. Then just restart your phone.

Edit: Use Root Explorer

I assume you are doing that with Root Explorer, which I don't have :(

In root explorer. In case you aren't sure k0smo86 ;)

You can also use fab's install scripts.....

Install/Remove system apps: (warning, these are very powerful! Use with caution)
*Place desired file on /sdcard
-install
-uninstall

Duh. You are correct. I read that initially but I forgot to mention that I would be upgrading OTA to 2.3.340.

And thanks for the hint on app+data only and not system with titanium backup.

Not sure where to ask this question...

I LOVE Apex 1.3...except for the green in the notification bar!

I don't want to flash a theme because I like all the rest of the Gingerbread theme, especially the black backgrounds for settings, etc.

Could someone tell me how to simply change the colors of all the icons that appear in the notification bar to another color. I'm thinking I can download Apex 1.3 to my computer, unzip the right files, edit the existing images changing only the color, save, then move the apex 1.3 zip to my sdcard and install it.

Can this be done? MAJOR thanks if you can help me!!!:D
