Hi
Leedroid is the first and only ROM I have flashed on my rooted desire and when I flashed it I didn't wipe the data from the phone (although I did back it up). All apps seem to be working fine after the flash.

Most of the other ROMs request that you do a wipe before flashing but im not sure how I need to go about it.

Is there an option within recovery to wipe before flashing or is there another method.

I would like to try some other ROMs and need to be certain how to do this first.

Also is Titanium Backup the preferred option for backing everything up prior to wiping / flashing ?

Thanks in advance.

Bully.

I followed the video on youtube about how to flash. The video showed factory reset/wipe then immediately flashing the zip that was on the sd. After my wipe, all the data on the sd card was cleared including the zip so I had to boot as normal to get access to the sd to copy the zip back. Did I do something wrong?

you formatted sdcard, you didnt wipe
factory reset/wipe user data does not delete anything on the sdcard

I followed the video on youtube about how to flash.

You tube is full of wannabies, who know nothing, jerking about and having a laugh. That has its place!

Look at the experience and thanks that alot of our senior members have here, there is no need to go anywhere else for advice on how to root other than personnal preference.

Not forgetting XDA.

I did a lot of reading here and at XDA, the link to the video was posted here by someone who'd followed it successfully.

Its also a good idea to perform a Nandroid back up, I wont explain what it is, a journey to the search bar will be needed there are plenty of FAQ's about it. It is always advised that you wipe/factory reset before flashing ANY ROM!

What ROM are you thinking of using?

Nandroid backup was done using Rom Manager / recovery.

Not thinking about any ROM at the moment as ive only recently flashed Leedroid.

Just wanted to know the wiping process for any future ROM flashes.
