Help Android Market stuck on "Starting download..." fix??

BACKUP FIRST!
Just in case something goes wrong.
Download the zip file i attached and put it on the root of your sdcard.
Instructions:
1) Boot Into Recovery
2)choose WIPE then Wipe dalvik-cache
3)go back to main Menu and choose Install from sdcard
and scroll down to MarketFix.zip
Let it do its thing and reboot the phone.
PS: This reboot is going to take a bit longer than usual because the phone has to rebuild all the cache we deleted.
Let me know if you have any problems with it (doubt you will I tested it and everything seemed to go fine.)

So this will basically have to start over and need the wipe?

No it just wipes cache you don't have to put in all your info like doing a reset
its just making all the files needed to have the run faster.
This will not erase your apps or anything like that. all it does is wipe the cache which is used to make the phone run faster. So the phone on the reboot needs to rebuild all the cache files once it starts.
ON THE WIPE option DO WIPE DALVIK CACHE
NOT!!!!!WIPE FACTORY/DATA!!!

mmm have you tried clearing all the data from the market?
applications->manage->market clear data. I don't know what to tell ya because its working for me. after i did this when i still ran the eris.
Edit i saw that you did...last thing i would suggest is doing a factory reset... not the best case scenario but only thing i can think of at the moment.

Posted this on another thread, but am reposting here since this thread is more recent.

Hey, this has still been happening with my two HTC Evos as of 31 Dec 2011 with Android 2.3.3 and Market 2.3.4. So, looks like the issue is still not fix 100%. This is what I've discovered and how I work around it. I live an a poor coverage area, get a weak signal. With apps set to download updates automatically, if phone is in this weak area when download is started, poor signal will cause the download to hang. Even after entering a strong signal area or switching to WiFi, the download will not resume. I have to cancel the download and start download again while on WiFi or when in good signal area.

Hope this helps. Sure wish this would be fixed for good!
