xScope, a multitouch pinch zoom browser

1. This is disabled temporarily on this update. It was called 'hide tab if only one left'.
2. Exit option is on secondary bar. This is by design. There are too many more important buttons but I really don't think it is a good idea to put more on the main bar. I did have plan to make the bar customizable so it is up to the user to do what they want. Just not there yet :(
3. Bars are linked by now. I might make it behaves like what you have suggested.
4,5,6 are all by default now.
Just curious if v6 has the following capabilities added back into it yet? I find them essential in the old v5 and would LOVE to finally update to v6!

1. The ability to hide the tabs, UNLESS there is more than one (then the tabs always appear at the top until you get back down to a single tab again). I remember that this option was in the settings for v6, but it didn't work. Does it work now?

2. The Quit option brought into the main choice of options, rather than buried a couple selections deep.

3. The ability to separately access the bottom bar by hitting the menu button, and the top address and notification bars by swiping down/up.

4. Clicking a tab closes that tab

5. Clicking the address to access the address. Rather than popping up an option to either access the address or open the page options, which is redundant because clicking the star next to the address opens the page options.

6. Pinch-Zoom without opening links.

Bump. The new copy/paste mechanism is fantastic and I recommend everyone check it out. Finally, a browser that implements some good, movable beginning/end bars. It's what copy/paste should be universally on Android.

Thanks to the developer for this great app that I use daily. Worth the $2.99 and more.

Made compatible to Gingerbread
Removed some redundant strings
Made the text selection feature more robust, and fast for Froyo.

Once text is highlighted, it pops three options: Copy, Search, and Share. Gosh the callout on left has a graphical problem :)

I will implement something like that. Thanks
Whats missing is:

  • History of visited Urls in the URL bar while typing

Say I visited xyzxyzabcabc.com, the next I type in xyz the recommendation/visited/typed url xyzxyzabcabc.com is already shown so I can just click it...
even the stock browser has this feature...

just a small request...

thank you

Thanks a lot for supporting!
The flash bug has been reported here:

Issue 8938 - android - Flash content not follow its WebView's visibility - Project Hosting on Google Code

I hope it gets fixed soon.

I see. No worries! Not that I like flash anyway (it lags my Galaxy S way too much).

Just curious, is there any plan to implement hardware acceleration for xScope?

If it can work like the current desktop browser (Firefox 4 Beta/Chromium), then it will be a major plus!

Please advise!

I just purchased xsope, awesome browser. well worth it. But I have a question , today i was showing off my new browser to my friend to show how fast my epic 4g was on the internet, so I went to speak easy.net and i cant view the part where u select the state. Kinda embarrassing because my xcope cant view this site, but his old htyc hero can with stock browser, so , i want to make sure it was stock with 2.1 update. He was using stock browser so i noticed in 1 of his options it said enable flash..so that meant his browser had flash .Can anybody else view this website with xscope..

p.s I have epic 4g 2.1 btw. not rooted

First off: thank you for making such a great browser! It works well and has more that a few killer features that no one else has.

However, it is missing one feature from the stock browser (and my blackberry before that) that I miss: keyboard shortcuts.

The stock browser treats SPACE as PAGEDOWN and all other typing as beginning a search.

The blackberry browser did pagedown and B = END, T = HOME, R = Reload, F = find on page, and many others.

This feature is only of use to people with physical keyboards, but it would be fantastic to have (even if just page down would work like stock).

Take care, and thatks for a great product.

Bump for a bug.

If you're browsing with the toolbar displayed, submitting a form of any kind will cause it to disappear and I have to push the menu button again to get it to reappear.

E.g. the toolbar is displayed, and I navigate to my work email where I'm presented with a login. When I push "submit" for the login, the toolbar disappears and I go to full-screen mode (though the notification bar appears at this point, which it shouldn't). I can press menu and get it back, but it's just a small annoyance.

Droid X on Android 2.2.1. I'm running a custom ROM right now but it does it on all ROMs including stock.

I have been using Opera Mobile (which doesn't even have flash) on a dumbphone for years. When I got a MT4G, I installed Dolphin which is a good browser but slow. Then I bought xScope. xScope is the best mobile browser ever!

I just wish I could add xScope bookmarks to my the home screen like I can Dolphin (which I don't use anymore).

Also, the flash doesn't work for streaming videos using brightcove and some other streaming stuff.

But still, great work on xScope!
