Ok so for the last 4-5 weeks or so my Epic 4G will display this message at random.
"A network Connection Error has occurred"
And it gives me the option to "Retry Or Cancel"
Other then getting the message I am not actually seeing any problems with my connection. Though it dose seem to have a vary hard time changing towers without dropping my call. I can watch it go to 0 bars then drop my call then go right to 3+ bars and clime to full signal as I drive down the high way even in major city's. I'm a truck driver and have this problem every where I go. So I know its a local network problem.
I am a former AT&T customer and new Sprint customer and have had more dropped calls in the last 2 months with Sprint then I had in the last year with AT&T. Some days I have no dropped calls at all. I can talk on the phone for hours while driving and not drop 1 call. Others it drops my call every few min to the point where I just give up on it. (Note: I am using a bluetooth headset while driving and never hold the phone or text while driving.)
This is not the only problem I am having.
I am also having problems charging the phone. I can plug it in and walk away and when it is fully charged it will stop charging. So if I plug it in and its at say 80% when it hits 100% it will start running off the battery again even thou its plugged in to the charger. It dos not do this all the time but about 70% of the time.
This sucks as I will some times get up to less battery then I had when I went to bed!
Then next problem is the most annoying. I will turn the screen back on after not using the phone for a bit and the touch screen will not work. So I can not unlock the phone. Sliding the key board open will some times unlock the phone and give me touch screen function back. But most of the time I have to remove the battery in order to get the phone to work again.
After or during a call if I take the phone away from my head to say end the call or punch in a # as needed by the automated phone BS thing I may have had to call the screen will often not respond for 1-4 seconds after it turns back on. This can be a problem when trying to put #s in for an automated prompt system as some will time out before I can enter the # I need.
My only options around this are to put the phone on speaker (Don't like that as I am some times in a place where others can hear it) or us a head set, but I do not always have one with me.
My last problem has to do with updating any thing on the phone.
Example: If I go in and tell the phone to update the profile it will give me this error message,
"Your Profile could not be updated at this time. Please try again Later.
If this problem Persists, please contact customer care.
Error: Internal Error."
If I try to update the PRL or Firmware I get the same Error message.
The only thing that seams to change is from time to time the Error listed will change from "Internal Error" to "Unknown Error".
My problems seam to be getting larger and appearing more often the longer I have the phone. I was hopping that the 2.2 update would fix the problems but seeing as its never going to come out I am thinking of just selling the phone and going to a different carrier. I have called sprint tech support 5 times and they have done nothing for me so far.
The last call they said they where going to open a ticket for an advanced tech support person to call me back in 8-48 hours. That was 6 days ago and I have not gotten a call back yet.
Any one have any suggestions as to what I might be able to do? I really love this phone but am not willing to live with it's constant problems and things that just don't work "Bluetooth and Voice commands for example" any longer.
And I am not going to Root the phone ether. I have never done anything like that before and am not sure I can do it without bricking my phone.
Thanks for the help. Sorry for the long post/vent.
