Root Apps for rooted GT540

The one I have found most useful is Titanium Backup. Lets you get rid of all the unwanted apps that came with the phone. Rom Manager would be great if it had the phone in its list, Barnacle Wifi Tether is also worth having. Ad Free is a must have for rooted phones and another worth a look is Super Manager, an app which does most of what a rooted phone would need.

I want to understand this particular term "ROOT". What is this and how to do that in LG OPTIMUS GT540? and why we need this? App2Sd, is it available on anodroid market? Is it a paid application? Please guide me.

Root means Full Administrative access to the OS... In Linux(Android is a Linux based OS) root is the name of the login account, given full and
complete access to all system resources... :D

Apps2SD is not available in Market... Search the forum to find how to do it.. Btw, I don't recommened it... :)

Pros
full control off phone.
Linktosd-moves apps to an ext2 partition then creates a link.
Lots of apps like shootMe(screen shot), titanium backup ect.
you will be able to flash a recovery image-for bringing your phone back from the dead.
Install CFW like cyanogen.
Uninstall useless stock apps. Check and backup before you do

Cons
Voids warranty
Rooting wont brick your phone but what you do after that might

There should be a guide on the app store call root and me. It'll tell you more
