Help [ROM][2.2.1][Official] I9000XXJPX European flash whith Odin

Procedure:
1.unrar I9000XXJPX
2.Open ODIN. (And close Kies, if you have it open. It is important to have ODIN open BEFORE connection the phone via USB!)
3.Select the PDA and .PIT files in Odin. Use Re-Partition !
4.Turn the phone into the download mode by pressing and holding VolumeDown+Home+Power.
5.Connect your phone with your computer and wait until the drivers are installed.
6.When the drivers are installed, click Start.
7.The phone will be flashed and once it’s finished, it will boot up. (Do NOT disconnect the usb-cable, remove the battery or otherwise interrupt this process!)
8.You have successfully flashed your phone.

PIT files would be which one? 512? or 803?

If you're already on JPU there is little point flashing to this one, unless you're a dedicated Kies user (this firmware fixes Kies connectivity Vs JPU, I don't use Kies for anything, so its quite irrelevant to me). Only other changes people have noted so far is a new wallpaper, and a new bug where apps are arranged by download date.

Just updated from JPU to JPX, just flashed the PDA with no re-partition.

Easy and quick.

If its just one file to flash with odin you don't need pit or reparation

hi guys, it might interest you to know. i was on jpm, jpo, jpu and jpu with darky's rom with taste of gingerbread (which was really fast i scored 1580 in benchmark) but just today i upgraded to jpx because there are features that i don't like with darky's rom. in only 2 days i have tried and flashed three versions of froyo and here are my observations:

1) gps was very accurate it pinpointed my exact location at arms length.
2) battery efficient (more efficient than jpu)
3) without lagfix i scored 1230 on benchmark.
4) no problem connecting with kies (latest version)

i guess there are more advantages over jpu but i will post it later. the only thing i miss is rooting. i have tried the chainfire root v. 1.3 with busybox which worked with jpu but with this (jpx), it did not work. i have not tried z4root because i know it did not work with jpu much more with jpx. cannot restore my back-up (phonebook, calendar and messages) using titanium backup since it requires rooting. however, all the applications were intact (from jpo to jpx). i flashed it using odin, no repartition and no pit file used. only the pda since there was only one file contained in the rar file.

please let me know if anyone knows how to root this version.

hmm. I hate to admit it but I am in need of some community brain storming. I had been using the froyo JPA that I had flashed through Odin a while ago. So today I decided to take the JPX plunge... yeah.

So I went to samfirware and got the JPX .tar file, used pit .512, selected repartition since JPA was using pit .803. And continued to flash as I had done before, honestly not as nerve wrecking as the first time. Odin did everything it was supposed to and then when it reboots, the recovery mode complains:

can't mount /dev/block/st110 (invalid argument)

it could not copy all media. and thus it gives me all these options from the recovery console.

UPDATE: managed to unbrick by flashing with JPU, gonna try to flash the JPX now.

UPDATE 2: it worked, had to do JPA>JPU>JPX but at the end everything worked out. Just another typical nerdy day where I brick my phone just for the fun and excitement of figuring out how to fix it.

hello guys.i have jpu and i want to install jpx.If i install jpx what options should i put in odin?only pda?without repartation?And if i install jpx all my programs and games will delete???

all programs and games remains intact.
