Nexus S on it's way

Rang carphone warehouse this morning to find out if they were dispatching the Nexus S orders today. Guy said they weren't in yet and it would be a week before they did

Well, I just received a text saying my Nexus S has been dispatched!

I've had an iPhone 3g which I loved, but the pricing of the iPhone 4 is just too expensive for me.

This is is my first Android phone and I'm looking forward to it, but knowing my luck it will chuck it down with snow and it will be stuck inside a frozen DHL lorry on the motorway for the next week

I need my gadget fix!

You can spend the time getting your Google Contacts, Calendar and mail all sorted, ready for when you sign in and be amazed at how they are in sync within minutes.

Pants!

The text from carphone warehouse saying the phone has been dispatched was less that truthful.

After ringing them this morning, they said it was still in their warehouse waiting for collection and should be picked up by DHL today, but they can't guarantee that (it could be tomorrow), and not to count on getting it before Christmas.

Don't know about you, but when I'm told something I've ordered is *dispatched*, I expect it to be in the back of a van somewhere on it's way to me, not still stuck in the warehouse.

This isn't the first bad experience with this company, and all I can say is that I'm glad I'm not forced to do business with them every day.

They should count themselves lucky that they've got an exclusive deal on this phone because given the choice I'd have gone elsewhere.

Ordered mine yesterday from UK CPW. Selected to collect from store due to the snow here affecting deliveries - I can't remember the last time I saw a Royal Mail Delivery...

Just waiting for the call to walk into town as the car is snowed in!

You may have ordered yours in a different way, but I also chose the collect from store option, but it's an online order that they post to the store and I collect from there.

Like I say, could be a different order process for you, but you may still be at the mercy of DHL (fingers crossed you aren't).

You are correct. DHL delivery to Banbury store...

I'm OK though, I can honestly say that I'm not desperate for the NS to come. I like new tech and all of that but I'm not too unhappy with the N1 that I can't deal with having to wait a few days.

I got the same message last night from DHL... sat at home in London knowing it's under 6 miles away

Should be here today!

The only downside is that I've got to simultaneously reconfigure my SGS for the wife!

Where are they shipping the phones from? CPW have sent me an incorrect tracking reference, so they have no idea if it will turn up tomorrow or not.

A guy on the phone said their warehouse is in Brimingham.

No movement on mine this morning, so I went to my local store to see if they had any in stock. If they did I would cancel my current order and get one from there.

They didn't, but they looked on the computer to find they had one coming in tomorrow and after a few seconds noticed it wasn't for general sale and was actually reserved for me. So at least I know now and I'll be off tomorrow afternoon to pick it up.

FYI: The lady said the only store she could see in West Yorkshire with some in stock today was Leeds with 4 available (not sure which store in Leeds though).

If you buy at the store you aren't entitled to the 14 day return though, so be careful.

I ordered yesterday, it shipped from Lichfield last night, and arrived at my flat in London about 30 mins ago.

I was given an old DHL reference by the looks of it, but after about an hour it updated to my details. I could see it was out for delivery, so been checking all morning in case something happened to it!
