Recommending Go Launcher (was "New Launcher!" and "Go Sms"))

are there any like how to guides for using a launcher. i am totally clueless on how to use them but i am bored with my stock set up and would like something different.

I don't know of one but it it's fairly user friendly and you have us. Ask questions!

You can also ask the Dev, through twitter. His name is "GoLauncher".

Well, they really won me over today with that Christmas gift. I have been playing with Go Launcher and Pure widgets all day and I finally uninstalled LPP not long ago. I think I will be staying with Go for a while. There are so many parts reminiscent or MIUI (my favorite Incredible ROM) you can't help but fall in love with it. :D

Where'd the wallpaper go? I picked the Christmas style for the dock but can't find the wallpaper.

Widgets are your friend :)

For weather I use Beautiful Widgets which is a combo of weather and clock.

Sports...I like SportsTap...easily accessible info that won't drain your battery (ESPN Scorecenter was a battery drainer for me in the past)

Not sure about the news and calendar...I like the Jorte calendar but still miss my LPP calendar as I feel it is THE best out there personally. The news widget used eariler in this thread looks nice though.

Hope this helps!
That does help, especially the weather/clock widget. I thought I had seen several times on here that my phone had to be rooted to get that. Guess not, Sweet. I'll have to check out the sports and Jorte widgets.

I installed some calendar widget last night that looks decent but I'm having trouble syncing it to my calendar. Well the main problem was that I don't use any calendars, not on a computer anyway. It wouldn't let me add a note for Christmas Eve because I didn't have it synced. I started a Google calendar and went through the settings, seemed simple enough but it still wouldn't sync. I'll try this Jorte. Thanks humph.

LauncherPro+ advantages (LauncherPro is free and does not have widgets or pop up gestures)
11. Backup option (important with complicated setups)

For backup, just backup Go Launcher with TiBu. On restore, it reconstructs everything except widgets--just like LPP's retore.

To me this is a huge advantage over LPP. LPP never properly restores from TiBu. Having a simple one stop shop for backup in TiBu versus having to go into LPP and try a backup is genius.

I switched from LP to Zeam a while ago, even though I paid for LP.
Zeam is super fast, and super stable. I'm just curious why everyone didn't switch to Zeam but did switch to this launcher when, aside from a tabbed app drawer, Zeam is at least as good if not better.

Ive been thinking about trying that launcher, maybe I will check it out. Can you change the icons in the app drawer like LP?

I have used hancent since day 1 and I tried out GoSms yesterday. The biggest issue with GoSms for me is that it doesn't allow you to customize the alert for each contact like handcent does. (unless I missed that option somewhere)

That's what I was thinking, I just couldn't see a reason to switch. Go launcher sounds interesting. But honestly the launcher isn't that big a deal to me. I have switched from blur home to ADW to LPP to ADW back to blur and forth.

So far honestly I like ADW the best, but I will give this one a try. I don't care so much about how it looks as opposed to how it performs. This is why I like ADW.
