HTC widgets/ features replacements

Was thinking about exchanging my MT4G for Nexus S but I like the HTC widgets/ features that I use. Are there suitable replacements in the android market for these?

Notes widget
Tasks widget
Calendar widget
People widget
MyModes functionality
Personalization with Scenes feature

I know that there is fancy widget and beautiful widgets that work fine.

Also, are the 3G speeds good enough? what makes the MT4G good is the hardware buttons, 4G speeds and the built quality. I'm wondering if I really should exchange for a Nexus S...

Have you tried LauncherPro+? The paid (+) version allows you to use Sense like widget for People, Calendar, Facebook, twitter and a few others. LP is a home replacement apps that gives you A LOT of custumization ability!

Introducing the new LauncherPro Plus!

Try out the free version to see if you like it :)

To test the speed of your phone, download Speedtest.net from the market. Run it a couple of times to see how fast your connection is.

If you have the money, you can buy the phone outright and 'test drive' it. If you don't like it, you have 30 days to return it to bestbuy. This way, you have enough time to really see if you like the Nexus S or not. No better way to decide than first hands experience ;)

Hope that helps,

Which one (MT4G or Nexus S) do you like the most?
Do you miss the 4G speeds on nexus S?
Do you feel the lack of the hardware buttons hampers the usability?
I think the storage of 16GB is good enough, so it is not a problem.

Loaded question:

Here is what I feel so far (Still on an iPhone 4 as well, Jailbroken.):
So far, although I like the build quality much better on the TMO4G better, for some reason I enjoy the Nexus S better. Don't know because it is lighter, bright screen with nice blacks, fast interface or what.

Speed has been consistently faster on the Nexus S. Let me explain. I am constantly running tests using 3 methods. Speedtest app, FCC app and the mobilespeedtest.com. Most of the time speeds are very close, Nexus S being about 10% faster many cases. Once in a while TMO4G will be like 30% faster (I guess thats when it is on H+). I can send the CSVs if you want to see the results. I have been doing the tests at different locations through out the area I live in.

Although one may think that the lack of HW buttons will be bad, I kind of like the embedded buttons. I like the ability to turn the device using the front button.

Also a note on the Camera, it seems to be wider angle lens on the S.

I dont think storage is an issue. I will be OK with 16.

I will keep updating my experiences. I have about a week left on my 14 days on the TMO and till 16th on the Nexus S. Thank I will make a decision.

Thanks

Thank you for that.

What has kept me away from the Nexus S so far, the quality of materials used on the MT4G and the H+. I've read that the 3G speeds are not that different between them, not enough to make a difference in real world use.
I used the nexus s briefly for a few days and found that the UI is much smoother with the nexus s and found that sometimes the screen transition effects were slightly laggy on the MT4G at times due to the memory being taxed by background processes.
I read that call quality and bluetooth are better on nexus s( I could not do a side by side comparison to find if this is true)
I liked the buttons on MT4G (I am using this for the past few days). they are quickly becoming addictive. Before this i used a nexus one and hated the embedded buttons. but the nexus s has improved in terms of the embedded buttons.
I think I might pick up the Nexus S because I have read that Honeycomb might become available in March and with the MT4G, I'm not sure when I'll get gingerbread let alone honeycomb.
