Anybody want to buy a Rooted Evo with a cracked screen??

Hey guys,
I bought a black Evo back in September, unfortunately after about a month of using it the screen cracked/shattered which was entirely my fault and thats just where my luck started to go bad....two days later I lost the phone at the movie theather. Luckily I had insurance and paid my deductible and got a new one. Last weekend I went to see Tron at the same theater and just by chance happened to ask if anyone had found a broken htc evo and low and behold someone had turned it in ....I called assurion(sp) yesterday and asked if i should send it back and they told me it didnt matter now and I could keep it. Ive toyed with the idea of buying a new screen off ebay and diy fixing it and selling it on ebay. But i figured id offer it up for sale on here if anyone wanted one for parts or wanted to fix it...if anyone is interested I can send pictures of it via email by request.

Its unrevoked rooted also just fyi...

If anyone is interested you can email me for more info @ teh.brandon@yahoo.com

Thanks!!

Hey,

Just FYI, if you went to a Sprint Repair Center you should be able to get you screen replaced or phone replaced for about $120. I was in the same boat (cracked my screen & didn't have any insurance) and went to the repair center, and offered cash for the replacement and installation, and they ordered a refurb and replaced mines. Because it wasn't an insurance claim or anything like that I'm pretty sure your root status won't matter.

I had insurance and was able to get a new one for $100 deductible thanks though that info could be helpful to another forum member who doesnt have insurance

The WiFi still works on it...and if Asurion said to keep it, then you aren't committing insurance fraud (are you?).

Sell it as a bad ESN with cracked screen for parts, and you'll likely get your $100 deductible back.

Yes it does...and no im not commiting insurance fraud, thus the reason i called them....honestly I thought it could be a good deal for someone, if i dont get any interest ill just fix the screen and sell it for more on ebay

even with a bad esn, im sure theres someone that could use it, even if its just for parts. seeing as youve gone through the loops to report back to the insurance company, id say throw it up on ebay. even if you only get $50 for it, its not like its a loss or anything for you.

Also just to throw out an idea, it might be worth trying to find a used screen (ive seen them on ebay for under $40) and use it as an mp3 player or something in the car so you arent running down the battery on the evo you use daily.
