A better Market?

I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but why does Market suck so much at finding app's?

Ok, OK! I admit... iTunes fan. Sorry! But, allow me to support my claim.

The online (web-based) Market has a FRACTION of the available apps. Why not all of them?

Case-in-point on searches... in Market on my Hero, I search for "email client" and/or "email". I would expect K-9 to show up but instead I get "txtForward", "TimeCatcher", "Hire*A*Droid Job Search"?!? among a host of other non-email related app's. K-9 isn't even listed!

I'll do my due diligence and scour the discussion threads here and on other sites for the best app's in the categories I'm interested in, but what's to be done about making the Market much, much more user friendly?

It seems to have more apps than are actually listed on the market on my Hero. It also contains the barcode to scan and takes you right to the app in the market. Note: Some of the apps that are not listed in the market but are on the AndroLib website, I am able to download and use from the developers website.

Please be WARNED !!!!! Som of the apps you are looking for might not work or wont work correctly on your device.

Apps made for 1.6 or higher may not work with 1.5 or lower.

I agree, searching ANY of the markets listings I use (on phone, Androlib, Google, SlideME etc.) is an exercise in frustration. Is there a space between words or not? Gotta get it right or you wont find it. Cant quite remember the full app name? Good luck, try again. Know what kind of an app you'd like and search by keywords? Hit or miss. Google is the world's largest search engine and this is the best they can do? Quite lame!

I'll agree with you there, Google should have a far better engine for searching for the apps, and I'm actually pretty surprised they don't have a good library of them. But don't be surprised when they do finally come out with a comprehensive list of them lol
