I couldn't resist flashing the new FroShedYo v10 ROM. It's AWESOME! You all know how much I adore Nonsensikal, but I think I've found my new daily ROM! It's very responsive, snappy, no lags or glitches, no camera bugs to report after 24 hrs. It has a really cool design with amazing font, Gingerbread keyboard, Gingerbread Dialer, Gingerbread Phone, and flip animation (which is just cool).

It just runs incredibly smoothly and looks clean and stylish. LURVE it!

Hmm, specs say default clocking is 528, personally I think it's very refreshing that a ROM is NOT overclocked by default. I've used FroShedYo before and liked it, I guess I'll have to give this new one a try if KPG is so fond of it. :)

Ya, I've found it to be pretty snappy w/o OC'ing. I haven't changed any of the settings and I really like it.

Generally speaking any ROM can be safely OC'd to 710. It's usually the device itself that resists overclocking, not the ROM. 710 has been found to be a generally acceptable setting. However some phones can go a little faster, and some aren't quite stable at 710.

*I* could never really see a speed difference with my phone when it was overclocked, therefore I always prefer my phone be set to 528 to conserve battery. If I could see a big speed difference I might feel differently, but I can't, so I don't. ;)

Just flashed this last night based on the recommendations here. Seems very nice thus far. The only thing that is bugging me a bit is that it is difficult to spot unread e-mail in gmail because the font appears bold for all email. The only difference is a slightly different background color for unread mail. Otherwise a very nice rom.

Lovin this rom as well. I really like the gingerbread elements. Decided to flash CFS v9 and leave stock clocking in place and its running great.

Is there a reason he (Shed) decided to stick with CFS v8? Was it because of Apps2SD?
EDIT: Shed says that you can flash any kernel you like, CFS v8 just works better on his phone. Later in the thread, a user cautions NOT to change the kernel or settings.

One thing I did notice is that when I delete Gmail on my phone, it doesn't delete it anywhere else. So when I log into my laptop, my Gmail inbox is still full. I read on XDA that other users were having the same issue and re-flashed the gapps from v9 even though v10 says he updated the gapps.. So I just did that. We'll see if that works. Anyone else having this issue?

Edit: Flashing gapps did nothing to help. Puzzled.

This is exactly the reason why I cannot use this ROM. The font may look nicer than standard Android (though others may feel otherwise), but it's worthless if the beautiful form ruins functionality.

That said, I do see that Workshed has a vanilla version of this ROM. Is this vanilla as in everything is standard AOSP Android, or vanilla in the sense that everything is white as opposed to pink or gray or blue?

Because of what he says here

"VANILLA - FroShedYo
NOTE: Make sure to flash this gapps after flashing the VANILLA rom - gapps-mdpi-20101213-signed.zip
If you DON'T want facebook, twitter or maps, flash the tiny - gapps-mdpi-20101213-signed.zip"

I suspect that this is vanilla as in everything is standard. If it were just a color change it wouldn't require that gapps be flashed. Naturally I don't know this for sure, just an educated guess.

Ok, good to know. Though, of course, CELB is working just fine for me, and I see no reason to switch...

i just flashed this one and have been playing with it for a couple hours. unfortunately, the first time i used the camera,it force closed and wouldnt reopen  after a reboot it seems to be working, ill stick with it a couple days and hopefully this was a fluke.

the only other thing that sucks a little is the lack of the time in the right hand side of the notification bar. ive become quite accostomed to it bein there and dont really want to have to use a clock widget. i checked for a setting and couldnt find one,but that i guess doesnt mean its not there :p if anyone has found it,let me know!

other than that, seems like a pretty nice rom, coming from tazz vanilla.

edit: figured out the clock thing. there is a status bar settings under the user interface settings. apparently the color was black so i couldnt see it,lol... changed the color and voila!

Scotty, in the CyanogenMod settings (sorry, not sure exactly which menu and don't have the phone in front of me right this second) there should be a setting to show clock. Also there is a setting for the clock color, make sure the color of the clock isn't the same as the color of the notification bar.

thanks for the reply... i hadnt noticed it when i typed my edit above. indeed the color was set to black

Ya, Shed was telling ppl that was indeed black on black. I changed that to white and made my background on the homescreen a solid charcoal grey. I like to play with the colors a lot until I find something I like.

Yep. Just snapped a few when your post arrived in the thread. No lags. No problems switching to gallery.

i also had it force close when i tried to change the settings, but it opened right back up and still is taking pics just fine,so as long is it doesnt get any worse than this its not too big a deal. now if i could just figure out how to text them without issue

Can you go to your SMS app and just text them from there instead of texting them from your gallery?
