gingerR5 Build? What?

Thanx for the input.

I installed Darky's v7.7 Gingerbread Edition last night. Pretty cool but...

  • The auto-rotation is reversed.

  • I can't see the device on my computer through USB anymore...Screen says to press the home key to quit Samsung Kies.
edit: I figured this out through the settings/USB etc...Duh.

  • No quick vibration only setting.

Another ?

Why is it when I press the Home button it pages back and back and...Instead of returning straight to the home screen?

Darky's v7.7 Gingerbread Edition

You installed the I9000 version of the rom. If you look in this thread you'll see the rom listed on mediafire in large caps. [ROM]Darky 7.8 - xda-developers

DO NOT go to the "original rom thread" link below it. That takes you to the I9000 development forum where this rom originates. The one in the captivate section, which I posted above, is ported over and uses a reoriented kernel so that the problems you listed above do not happen on our captivates. This is such a common mistake when installing this rom that I really hope he moves the link.
Anyway just flash the ported one from the thread above and you'll be good to go. Darkys rom is by far my favorite rom out there.

Also the first thing to do after you install it is go to the app 'sgs tools' then go to the gps fix menu option and change it from europe.pool to north.america.pool. After this open up lbstestmode and delete gps data. Your gps should now be working flawlessly. Mine works absolutely amazing on this rom.

I'm on "darkytt3r_v8.1" since this discussion and I know there's a 9.1 out now but I'm having the same issues as before...How do I find the non "I9000" version? Is there on yet?

I've even looked on the Darky Forum site for the correct version to no avail.

Thanx
