Root Is there a One Click Lag Fix or similar root for xxxJPY?

I've recently updated myy firmware to JPY and although it is a little faster than the previous firmware, I would like to root it in order to use certain software which require a rooted SGS.

I've always used One Click Lag Fix for it's simplicity rather than going down the connecting to the PC Odin route.

I can download OCLF but the only green option I can see on it is to check the disk size. Therefore I presume that it is not available for the current JPY version.

Is there any other simple rooting programs that can be used on JPY to root the SGS without connecting to a PC?

Thanks for your reply Voodoochild but unless I am missing something, both of your suggestions involve hooking up to the PC by using Odin or other, which is not what I wanted to do, as per the original OP.

From your recommended Page 44 over at XDA

Then, flash CF-Root for JPY with Odin (no repartition, no pit, just PDA)

Also the other link you supplied, is how to install One Click Lag Fix. As mentioned above, I have installed One Click Lag Fix and rooted the phone many times with different firmware releases. However, this time OCLF does not seem to work (possibly yet) with JPY.

If anyone has any experiences or tips regarding OCLF and JPY, please feel free to add to the discussion.

ah my bad, well rooting without plugging your phone into a pc, try z4root, not sure if its still available on the market but you can find it on the net (via your phone) and download it.

hey there

I used z4root and then installed OCLF ( Froyo ) and the phone works no problems. I did have to find them both online and install from my phone because im either blind or they arent on the market anymore.
From memory its OCLF version 2.2+

You are much better off installing Darky's Gingerbread Edition after rooting, I really loved the ROM, it's much faster than having a lagfix installed, but the best part is there's no lagfix installed on this ROM (Unless you chose to install VooDoo).

Agreed, I am running Darkyys rom v7.0 and it is amazing. You do not need any lagfix the phone is ligntning quick from get go.

Strange. Someone wrote on XDA that z4root does not work on 2.2.1. Instead you have to use super one click.

That's true, but somehow Super One Click does not root my phone either so I flashed Steam's Kernel then it rooted my phone, and I flashed Darky's Gingerbread ROM and it works.
