For such an amazing device, i cannot believe i have to settle for fuzzy or grainy caller-id photos. You would think they would let us make it big and bright, showing off the quality of our screens.

I can use the most amazing quality photo i have and set it as a caller id photo, but when the person calls it shows up as grainy.

Feels like a year since i looked into this, wondering if there has been any progress?

What I did was grab pictures from my computer, and import them to my gallery. I had all of my contacts with names numbers but no pictures. I went and clicked new contact, clicked the camera then gallery, picked a picture and croped it. Then I went to whoever's picture that was, and linked them. It takes a while and it's a b*tch, but clear pictures!

Yea, my contact photos that are linked to Gmail are fuzzy also.

Also, anyone know how to make the contact photo icon larger when using individual Person shortcuts?
I prefer these over the People widget because it allows me to set default action as Quick Contact to get that nifty high-speed contact bar to pop up, where as that option does not exist in the People Widget....gets me why HTC left that one off, but have all the others.

Im not getting my contact pics from gmail.

I went through my address book and found a pic for each person, cropped it to exact size on my pc, then loaded it onto my SD card in a "CallerID" folder.

I then clicked into each contact and edit them, and then "Add photo" and select "from gallery"

This issue seems so small and trial next to others, how can they let this go on for a year.

I think the issue is that when you sync your contacts with google the pic gets resized and is uses that resized pic instead of the one from your SD card. It is google that is messing with the pic quality.

That makes sense, but tbh i dont really care lol. I just want the pic i set as my caller-id pic, to be the pic that is used! Not have it uploaded, resized, ruined, then sent back to my phone
