I got my first Evo back in June or July. Loved the phone. Then, I had the charging port break lose from the circuit board.

Since then, every phone I've received has had numerous issues.
(1st replacement phone) bricked for several minutes in store upon activation. Calendar and home screens would constantly re-load. Phone would reboot at random points.

(2nd replacement phone) screen lifting, light leakage, cracks around the power button, 3G signal constantly lost requiring me to manually turn Mobile Network off and then on again.

(3rd replacement phone) arrived without water damage sticker on back of phone, automatically voiding warranty.

Awaiting 4th phone now.
Oh lord, I'm so sorry this has happened. I hope it's okay to say I hope I have a better experience with my replacement.

I still have my EVO from the end of July. I've only had one actual problem with it: corrupted microSD card, had to wipe it. It was the same card i'd had with my ancient glitchy Instinct and then my not-quite-right BlackBerry.

Good/neutral: most of the files i had already backed-up from swapping out of the BB, and a few were already corrupted. It further prompted me to update my music files (including corrupted songs), which i had been meaning to do and was close to being somewhat ready for it. My library is better now than it ever was. My homescreen image was saved on the phone itself, apparently. Aside from pictures, videos, and music, i didn't lose anything.

Bad: what a frustration and scare! I hope it doesn't happen again. And though i don't think i lost much, i wonder what pictures i might have taken with the EVO before the card-crash.

The EVO survived a few minor and one nasty asphalt fall. The back cover is a tad warped in one corner and has a tiny chip, but there doesn't seem to be any other damage whatsoever.

There are tiny features i would like to have kept from other devices i've had, but the EVO is so much better than all of them combined. And unless something dramatic changes for the worse or better, i'm never leaving Sprint.

I had a dream last night that I was hiking along a river when I slipped and fell in the water. I was like ok no prob. When I get out of the water I realized that my evo was in my back pocket and that the otter box is not water proof. I was like, Oh S#!% my evo! While I examined the wet phone I was thinking about how good it was to have insurance and how crappy the refurb unit I was going to receive...

Yes I did have this dream... luckily my evo is safe and sound and I dont have a refurb. :D

I think you should specify if you mean still on your June 4th launch day Evo. If thats what you're really looking for. Unfortuantely I'm on my 3rd. Charger port went bad on the launch day Evo after about 2 months. Got a refurb, screen went bad after about 2 weeks, got another refurb that has been great ever since. Knock on wood.

My replacement was NIB but I mine was a warranty claim. No refurb.

Congrats, but my referbished experiences with Sprint have been just as good (if not better) than new.

Update on my launch-day Evo -- had a pretty crazy wreck last week:

IMAG0022.jpg

My Evo was in an air-vent holder, and was tossed around on impact. It wound up inside my dashboard. Went to the car yard the day after, broke off the glovebox door, reached into the dash and fished out my Evo, and the sucker still works. It has a little nick in the upper corner, but the glass is unscratched -- my Seidio case did more damage to this thing than hitting a tree and flipping over did!

Yeah, I walked away with some scratches, airbag burn, sore chest, and my back is aching. Who knows what else will turn up since it's only been a few days, but I'm hopeful that's it. Good advert for the Honda Fit, eh? But all things considered, I'm alive and was able to make it to 2011 :) It's a small thing, but I was so happy that my Evo survived -- paying the $100 deductible would not be a huge deal, but I have this one just the way I want it!

Plus I didn't want to lose all my progress in Angry Birds :)

lol, I'm sorry for laughing, but looking at that pic and then this statement, and its something I would say myself. "Screw the $35,000 brand new car, my EVO still works. Its INDESTRUCTIBLE. You hear that INDESTRUCTIBLE. Take that Samsung, Take that Motorola"

lol

But seriously, glad you are okay.

:D When I unbelted myself in a daze, the first thing I did was try to find my phone in all the mess. It was plugged into my radio with an audio cable, so I followed the cable up to the underside of my dashboard. I tugged on the cable like a fishing line, and DAMMIT it came unplugged, and my Evo dropped into the dashboard. Everyone was yelling for me to get out through the back door they opened, so I left it and figured it was gone for good.

I loved the car and my Evo, so I'm happy at least one of them survived with me :)
