How to watch movies/videos on HTC hero?

i have a movie i ripped from my cd and i converted it to .mp4 file. i just want to know how to play it. i read you need to open "albums" in the all programs tab but i dont/ never had an app called albums. it doesnt even open in music. can someone give an explanation to where to place my file and how to open it

You can put the file into any folder on your SD and the next time you open the Gallery app it should appear there. I find that sometimes the Gallery app doesn't refresh properly so I use a free app called SDRemount if I don't see files I expect to see in the Gallery.

However, you would probably get better results if you install a media player like YXPlayer or Rockplayer. Those will play all the supported video files and also add support for others like divx.
