Is there a Dual processor phone sprint bound?

I am very happy with my evo, but it's CES week so I am looking to the future as well. Has there been any sprint bound dual core phones announced or rumored this week? I've seen the verizon, att and tmobile dual cores, but nothing for sprint yet. Hopefully I over looked something and the evo shift isn't sprints only big reveal.

If history repeats itslef, Sprint releases their premium/flagship phones in the summer. I would expect this to continue and for Sprint to get something like that this summer.

I question how much a dual-core phone will actually improve real world performance. And to take advantage of dual core processors, won't the operating system have to be re-written to do multi-threading?

Sorry to come in on your thread but for me, I don't care about dual core. I want slim and light. The Atrix is STILL lighter and slimmer than the EVO. Even phones like the Captivate and Samsung Focus are thin and light. WHERE are Sprint's THIN and LIGHT phones? Android or Windows Phone.

I agree. Also I hope there's some improvement in battery life to power these dual core processors.

Battery life should be a MAJOR concern. One reason for BlackBerrys having generally decent battery life is they use a 628MHz processor.

Well Android does much more but yah I agree battery life is generally a concern. Impressive the new Atrix has a 1930 mAh battery. It should provide decent life.

I will say though my Olympus is fairly fast. I just prefer the phone has features I want and fits my aesthetic needs moreso then what processor it has.

So far I am not overly impressed with things that are coming out.

Also, I rly don't understand Sprints fascination with qwerty keyboards. With the Epic out I srsly don't see much reason to have an Evo shift next to it.

Hopefully more phones will come out with the wants I have. It is rather unfortunate that they are being shown up big time by the other two.

I wouldn't say sky is falling but they have a bumpy road ahead.

I think the Shift was supposed to fill a niche just below the flagship Evo and Epic Android phones. It's also smaller than the extremely (for a cell phone) large Evo and Epic. Made for the hands of kids and girls?

I really am hoping for a dual-core processor phone that is better than the competition. I switched to Sprint because at the time they had the best and fastest phones. I hope they stay ahead and don't lag behind.

Samsung did announce dual core tabs and phones with 4g coming and more details to be released on Feb 13th just before WMC 2011.

Sprint didn't announce much last year at CES either. They'll probably be announcing new phones at CTIA in March.

Odd that you'd suggest the Shift simply for kids and girls. I find the Shift incredibly appealing as a twenty-six year old male; the EVO and Epic are just too big and too expensive for me. The Shift fits in at a nice pricepoint for myself and being only slightly larger than my now Hero, as well as including a physical keyboard (SlideIT works great, but I find it more frustrating than physical keys), it is very attractive to me.

My only concern is that it's based on "last gen" technology. I figure if I'm going to upgrade my Hero come August, I'd like to have a phone that is more powerful and can do the things my Hero can't--that is, play some games the Hero can't, mostly.

I hear it is scheduled for global release like Optimus S and I think Sprint will carry it.

This is T-Mobile bound

I believe the Optimus Black will be their follow up to the Optimus S line up.

4 inch HD display... dual core 1ghz... AND the same battery that comes in the hero (3.2in screen, 526mhz)... good luck getting more than an hour or so of off the charger use

There are 2 dual-core phones coming by Summer/Fall to Sprint...

HTC EVO 3D - 4.3 in. qHD (960x540) 3D display with 1.2 ghz dual-core snapdragon processor and 1 GB of Ram, HTC Sense 3.0 UI, 4G, no kickstand

, Dual 5-mp cams on back to record in 3D (720p in 3D, 1080p in 2D),1.3 mp front cam, and bigger battery than original EVO.

Samsung Within (Galaxy S2) - 4.3 in. Super AMOLED Plus WVGA (800x480) (way better than original SAMOLED IMO) with 1.2 ghz Exynos dual-core processor and 1 GB of Ram, TouchWiz 4.0 UI, 4G, 8-mp camera that shoots 1080p, 2-mp front cam, possible NFC, and bigger battery than EVO 3D.

Both great looking phones. Samsung Galaxy S2 is already out in UK so you can look at some reviews for it and see how the Within will be.
