Root Any one over clock their Acsend?

Yes. I overclocked mine today with SetCPU (if you Google the full .apk, you can find it for free). I currently have my Ascend running at 600mhz with "Performance" scaling. This is my first day with it overclocked, but so far I'm noticing it's more responsive even when doing little things like scrolling between desktops.

I also deleted the stock apps like UNO (who wants a 180 second demo? LAME!), Midnight Bowling, Photobucket, Mybackup, etc...

u did not overclock... the cpu is rated at 600mhz, the reason it fells more responsive is since you set it to performance it is at a constant 600mhz rather then the "ondemand" setting that down clocks to lower clock, 450mhz or 300mhz when not being used... we need a modified kernel in order to overclock. we need new andriud version in order to have better performance.we need a develeper to create a rom with 2.3 since it looks like huawei is releasing 2.2 at beginning of 2011

Thanks for the info. As far as I can tell from the reviews I've read, the phone has a Qualcomm MSM7200A processor which almost every review/spec sheet I've found says it's a 528 mhz processor. I have however come across one or two that list it as a 600 mhz processor.

This is my first Android phone, so I'm still learning as I go along but it is somewhat confusing since I'm getting different numbers for the phone specs. Also, I ended up changing SetCPU to "Ondemand" scaling because performance was draining the battery a lot faster (which is to be expected).

To remove the bloatware, you need to root your phone. I used an app called RootExplorer which allows you to have full read and write permissions in the apps folder. These are the instructions I used - I didn't delete some of the stuff towards the bottom, but I got rid of Poynt and some of the background processes. Hope this helps!

We are going to look at the contents of the system application directory of the m860
(use your file manager to navigate to this directory)

/system/app

This is pretty much your stock 2.1 Android rom we are going to remove as much crap from this rom as possible others we will simpley delete and install them to

/data/app

where they belong besides why does YouTube or Photobucket need root i can think of a few better things to use this internal space for

*note any good file root file manage will allow you to make a backup or zip .apk and odex files to sd so before you delete them back them up

*reboot is need to uninstall useing menu>settings>applications>manage>uninstall

So that being I hope you have found this helpful
We have modified the system applications and gotten rid of the junk
not only freed up space on the phone but those useless background process's are gone now and looks like we slimd down this rom alot
are and with a good task manager we can gain memory for the applications we use
if anyone else has anything that they have found that can be deleted without destroying normal operations

@See 3-D

Thanks for this list, I have been wondering how to remove this useless crap from my already slow phone. I just used the temp root from z4root (without removing any bloat), and when I checked my available memory from Advanced Task Killer, I had almost 100mb free (Usually around 25-30 when I haven't rebooted in a few days)

Just rebooted and temp-rooted, I have 97mb free.

I'm definitely removing most of the things on that list because they are pretty much crap.

On the topic of the OP, I am interested in getting more than 600mhz out of this phone.

That could be possible but only on a different ROM, and there are none.
