Root Quick question about 3.70

Yes I have root, I dl'd the 3.70 from here/xda supersonic teshxx and I'm running that with riptides newest theme. when I dl'd the 3.70 is when I got the older hboot.

I got the newest radios, Everything seems to be working fine all apps tether ect.. so do I need new unrevoked or what? I see myn's 5 just dropped I need that. Give me advice please.

Edit:: this is the ruu http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=874251

1) Verify you still have s-off (you should)
2) Verify you still have a custom recovery (might not)
3) Verify your rom is still rooted:
a) Open a terminal emulator
b) Type "su" without quotes, then enter
c) If it turns from $ to #, you're good

You say you have the latest radios. Does that mean you have baseband 2.15.00.11.19 if you go to menu->settings->about phone->software information? This was a PC36IMG that you flashed, not a RUU (RUU is an exe), right? I've seen it do odd things to hboot when you already have root, but I'd be surprised if it actually updated the radios.

can I do this from phone? Is there an app?
edit just did T.E. and got #

And yes I have:
baseband: 2.15.00.11.19
kernal: 2.6.32.17-gee557fd #15
build: 3.70.651.1
pri: 1.90_003

Oh I thought it said ruu but I flashed it edit the link says ruu?

Should I unroot? I'm confused?

Here's Exactly what I did:

downloaded the 3.70 rom I posted above 1st (I was already rooted running myn's 4). Flashed that, did a nandroid, then I dowloaded the radio combo pack from xda, that gave me the new baseband pri etc.. Verified everything was working 4g, phone ect.. made another nandroid then downloaded the new riptide theme, flashed that and thats where I'm at now I'm just wondering why my hboot says 0.97 and I had 2.2 before?

Oh and I do everything from recovery I'm very comfortable with that

Huh, that sounds about normal to me. I have no idea how you got hboot 0.97. Not that it matters, *that* much. I'm going to go look into it now. The only thing I would say is next time, there's no need to make a nandroid between flashing the new rom and the radios if you're going to make one right after flashing the radios. Nandroid doesn't backup radios/pri/nv/wimax. If you want to go back to where you were before, you have to restore a nandroid and downgrade the radios manually.

Anyway, I totally misunderstood what you meant by flashing the RUU. That generally means you flashed a PC36IMG (like unrooting) or ran the actual RUU exe. I don't know why teshxx decided to call that a RUU. Technically, it's extracted from it, but it makes things confusing :). Anyway, I think you're in good shape. I'll see if I can track down how you managed to get 0.97 hboot.

Thanks alot my phone is functioning fine. I'm wondering can I flash Myn's 5 or should I wait? And I was doing someone else's phone today thats when I noticed the 0.97 his is working fine too! It just kinda through me that's why I asked. Thanks alot!

Also what is the proper way to update after a new OTA I know not to take Sprint/htc but is downloading/flashing (for example) a 3.70 rom not correct?

I'm thinking you must have gotten it from the combo update, but I'm pretty sure that's not supposed to include hboot, and even if it did, you shouldn't be able to downgrade hboot 2.02 and up (though, there are ways to if you have an older phone). For anyone else that reads this, if you didn't already have hboot 0.97, did your hboot version change to it when flashing the combo update? I already had hboot 0.97, so I can't verify. It would be nice to know if this combo update is doing this somehow. Again, it doesn't really matter. You're fine, go ahead and continue with whatever you'd like now.

Yep, you can flash Myns now. In fact, you could have done that instead of the basic 3.70 ROM that you flashed. It's good that you have a nandroid of a base ROM, though, so no harm in it. Just an unnecessary extra step.

I did the combo @ 5 in the morning. But if I'm not mistaken I did have 2.10 before that because, I did look after I dl'd the stock rom. I think it is coming from there. I put the same stock rom on my cousin phone the other day but, not the radios I'm going to call and verify.

If you had hboot 2.10 before flashing the combo update, you would have already had the latest radios. You must have had 2.02 or 0.97 already. Either that or you flashed the new radios and already had them... What was your sw version before?

Heck, if we had known how to change the hboot "on purpose" back when Unrevoked was unable to root 2.02 and up, sure would have made things a lot easier!!!!....hahaha!

Haha, well you still need s-off to flash the combo update, so even if it is changing hboot versions, it wouldn't make a difference to those without s-off yet.

I know for a fact I had 2.2 before, but I just talked to my cousin and she wanted that rom for swype (so did I and now I know so you don't have to say it) long story short I think it's that rom. Not the radios because she got 0.97 too without the radios. And I unrevoked her with 3.2. If I'm wrong in my assumption plz correct plz lol

I forget the s/w ver. before I think 3.3 it was the one before 3.70

Well, there is no 2.2 hboot. Do you mean 2.02? Flashing a ROM from recovery shouldn't touch hboot. I don't see how it could. Interesting that you bring up that point, though. I'll have to look into it some more. You're good to go, though, so I may not put it too high on my priorities list :p. I certainly want to find out what the heck happened, though. These out of the ordinary cases get me curious, hehe.
